Mark Plays... Ridge Racer V (PS2)

Ridge Racer V - is the 5th game in the Ridge Racer series on the Playstation line of consoles. This actually was one of the launch titles the PS2 was graced with and it is quite similar to Ridge Racer Type IV on the original Playstation or PSOne. It plays a lot faster and is more twitchy and it took me some time to get used to but it also showed a promise of things to come as Ridge Racer VI and VII obviously built opon the foundations laid in this game. A must play if you are a fan of the Ridge Racer series.

Mark plays... Cloak and Dagger (Arcade) (Atari 1984)

Cloak and Dagger - a cool dual stick video game created by Atari back in 1984. It is closely tied into a movie with the same name:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087065/
(Cloak & Dagger is a 1984 film directed by Richard Franklin starring Henry Thomas, Dabney Coleman and Michael Murphy. It is a remake of the 1949 film The Window. It was originally released in a double feature with The Last Starfighter on July 13, 1984 and then released separately on August 10, 1984.)

It was supposed to be released on the Atari 5200 but due to the video game crash that never happened. A cool bit of information about this game can be found over at AtariHQ:

Joy-it Mini Android PC Gameplay and Emulation - a preview of an Ouya-esque experience?

I was blown away by the performance of this 75 Euro Mini Android 4.0.4 stick sporting a 1Ghz CPU and 1Gb of RAM. It also has 4Gb of internal storage and the capacity to run a MicroSD stick with a maximum capacity of 32Gb. Read more below.

NeoGeo-X hooked it up and took a closer look

Okay I hooked up the NeoGeo-X and played on it. In 'console' form it is less disappointing for me. The experience playing the NeoGeo classics is actually fun. The Arcade joystick is precise and works well - although it does feel cheaper and nor as durable as the real deal. Read more below...

NeoGeo-X Unboxing and first impressions - a faulty unit? Not too happy

I think my expectations of this device were a bit too high and comparing it to the AES is perhaps not fair. But I have some issues with the hardware that may actually be a manufacturing-fault. Read more below...

Vectrex Regeneration (iOS) - a non-scripted first look

Freshly released Vectrex Emulator running on iOS available in the app store. The app itself is free but actual games are available in a pack and that is about 5-6 Euros. The app is available world wide. Sadly no word of an Android version of the app which should be very possible as the Android and iPad hardware really aren't that different and Android tablets should be able to manage something like this well. 3DS XL - System review (an in depth look)

-System overview (00:43)
-Comparison of the layout
-Comparison of the screens
-Demonstration of viewing angle
-Some information on the easy system transfer option (Internet connection required, you can also transfer your Ambassador status and extra games if you got the 3DS at launch) (10:30)
- An overview of the downloaded software I have
- Sound system
- Demonstration of fantastic 2D 'scanline-like' mode on the 3DS XL screen! (21:40) - this in my opinion makes the screen on this system superior to the regular 3DS screen.

The end sequence features a track created by ZombieAndy1979 'The Lake'

I got quite a few PMs and video responses on my last personal 3DS video - some wanted, asked or some even demanded a better more in depth look - so here it is. And not to worry - YT didn't screw up the framerate on this one :P

OUYA videogame console Kickstarter madness: What am I missing here?

I'm a big fan of Kickstarter and have personally backed over a dozen projects to date. I'm also a big fan of technology, particularly videogame and computer stuff, and practically gobble up anything new that I can. So why I am not caught up in OUYA videogame console frenzy? It has over $3 million in pledges in a little over 24 hours from over 25,000 backers, so it's already a success, and this will all surely continue to tick up dramatically and impressively over its remaining 28 days of open pledges, perhaps even breaking the Kickstarter record along the way. Clearly then, I'm in the minority when it comes to figuring out the appeal, so let's break it down.

Summer Holiday Portable Gaming 2012

My games on the iPad while vacationing...This time no Pandora, PSP, DS or 3DS for my portable gaming needs.
Suffice to say that my phone more or less features the same setup.
