Yes, it is a shame, Custard.

Yes, it is a shame, Custard. I'm sure the primary problem for any type of multi-territory roll-out is one of rights and permissions. It's a shame that it's not easier to procure a worldwide license when initial rights are acquired. International copyright law is so variable. Perhaps GameTap would be best served partnering with an entity in each new territory so it can get a headstart on the rights issue. GameTap could certainly take a cue from the Amazon model, where GameTap would have the engine and other territories would merely be "powered by" it.

Judging by the crippled

Judging by the crippled service the Canadians are getting, (only 50 videos available at any one time, a long list of games that aren't available because of rights issues), it looks like Gametap didn't have an international rollout strategy ready at all. Really too bad for the rest of the world that is waiting to play Sam and Max, or any other new title Gametap has on offer.
