NEC Turbo Duo: Photo - Bill LoguidiceWell, the narcissist in me just had to make mention of the fact that my NEC TurboGrafx-16/Duo-based interview and review is making the rounds in the very recently released (or soon to be released depending on your status), "Video Game Collector" magazine #6, Summer 2006 (they print them quarterly). It is or will be available at select retail outlets and popular online Websites, including their own, which is http://www.vgcollector.com/ .
Besides a flattering bio and mention of Armchair Arcade on page 3, I have a two page "Homebrew Haven" spread on pages 22 and 23, which includes my review of "Meteor Blaster DX Signature Edition" and partial interview with author Bt Garner. What I most like and appreciate is the limited editing that was done to my piece. How I wrote it was essentially how it saw print. After dealing with heavy handed or unecessary editing in the past, I can't tell you how refreshing that is.
In any case, the rest of the issue features the usual great content and price guides, with a particular focus on the aforementioned NEC systems and Superman videogames. I recommend you check it out!
I was just informed that VGC is available at over 1,700 Blockbuster Video stores starting with this issue and they are working on revamping their Website, including enabling direct ordering, in addition to subscribing.

really thinking about getting their magazine since I didn't read a gaming magazine in years. Should I get this magazine or any other magazines that covers retrogaming?
Well, this is the only US-based classic and modern videogame magazine that I'm aware of in print right now. The price guide and game lists are quite useful too. I know you're an NEC fan, so Issue 6 in particular should be right up your alley. You should probably check it out and purchase a copy at Blockbuster.

Most likely order from them online since I don't go to Blockbuster.
The Video Game Collector magazine Website has the cover of issue #6 up and a list of the contents. You can also purchase the issue directly now, along with all the other issues, or get a subscription. Check it out at: http://www.vgcollector.com
Has anyone seen it at a Blockbuster yet? I haven't had a chance to go into one.
