Interesting! I realize these games aren't popular in the US, but it reminds me of a more interactive and interesting "choose your own adventure" type of deal: http://www.bladeengine.com/BladeEngine/whatis.php

I'll definitely have to check it out at some point. I'm certainly a better writer/organizer than a programmer, so this might be a neat option. These do tend to be art heavy, so that's an issue, but this could be an option for the Myth Core project...

Good luck! One small piece

Good luck! One small piece of advice: better read your contract carefully before signing.. a lot of big game companies don't allow employees to work on their own stuff... or if they do, they own all rights (even if it's done outside your regular work hours).

Dating Sim Maker?

Very cool, Bill. How did you find out about it?

I remember stumbling upon some CA company that imports some of the official Japanese "visual novel" games that can play on a standard DVD player. While some are hentai (pornographic), not all of them are; just as not all dating sims are for that matter.

I do want to get started doing indie game development, but have to wait till I get a job and some money saved up... There is a very exciting job opportunity I might get out here in Portland, but I can't talk about it-- suffice to say it is gaming related in some way. :)
