While I admit that I prefer using my Windows 8 Ultrabook exclusively in desktop mode, that's still an impressive price for something that portable.

Obviously, the $1000 Surface Pro and equivalents are far more powerful and capable. I would think with something like this Acer you'd be best off sticking primarily with the Modern interface and touchscreen-centric apps, though the relatively modest resolution might make some traditional gaming practical. Certainly it could handle regular Microsoft Office work, though. There already are equivalent Windows 8 tablets out now (that run full Windows), but they're usually double this price. The keys here are the price, full Windows, and the 8 hour battery life. Particularly if the latter is true, it's not a bad little portable when paired with a good bluetooth keyboard. I'm not sure a keyboard dock (and touchpad) would be practical at that size (the ones for the iPad Mini are supposed to be compromised), but who knows?
