I just spotted this:

http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/universe/en-US/x.aspx

Looks like a Might & Magic X teaser. Might we finally get that game now after it namesake was canned 10 years ago?

Rumor has it that it will be announced at PAX next week.

Wizzardry 7 was long because every 3 steps you meet random encounter.. there lots of great things, which i highly appreciate, but i stoped play it, becuase of it. Longplay should be very long telenovela.

Just watched several of the

Just watched several of the videos.. a real step back in time it appears with a huge dose of stats, and such.. this game really looks deep.. but I saw one troubling thing, and maybe its just that Youtube videos are grainy.. the secret buttons..

a wall made of 30-50 bricks.. and in the video I could not see the "special" spots that indicated secret buttons like in most that age.. going from wall to wall clicking on 30-40 blocks for each move.. whoa.. not something I am interested in doing.. scanning each wall for marks or buttons, that i can do as long as they are visible. I hope Im not just seeing some tell tall mark .. he does seem to just push a top brick or a middle one.. i dont want each wall to become like the old adventure games.. slowly moving the mouse over every Object (brick) until the pointer changes.. in a dungeon of any size there are are alot of squares (walls) to do that on..

I'm sure I just cant see it in the video.. has to be..

youtube has a TON of videos.. and there is a demo.. (which I will check out tonight for sure)

That could be cool! He seems pretty weird but it might just be part of his PR.

I was holding off until I knew it was coming. Since Jacob did that reminder I thought now was a good time. It definitely looks like a labor of love. Not sure how well it will all work, but it looks like a good effort. You should definitely try to get him on.

Neat, I just contributed to

Neat, I just contributed to Grimoire at the $75 level.

Also, I agree with Rob about the rune-based casting of Legend of Grimrock. It will be nice not to have to do that in the Might & Magic game, if only to mix things up and streamline the play a bit...

Grimoire & Grimrock 2

While we are talking about M&M X I think it is worth drawing attention to another project I am also backing:

Grimoire - and old school tile based RPG that has been development as a one man project for 17 years and is scheduled for release in May:

Check it out. I have pledged $100 for this one.

And did you see the released Screenshot for Legend of Grimrock 2. That is outdoors as well:

Looks like Grimrock 2!

First off, this really does look intriguing to me. The tile movement sets it apart from most modern CRPG's, save Grimrock, and could be a major plus.

Grimrock without the tedious "rune" spellcasting system is a plus right there. And although the dungeon footage shown looks uncannily close to Grimrock, the addition of outdoor settings takes the game to the next level. I'm going to assume that M&M-X will also offer NPC's to chat with, as well as general lore and exploration that we've come to expect from CRPG's, particularly the M&M series.

Grimrock, as great as it was, was largely an action/puzzle/survival-horror game. We can expect MM-X to be a fully-fledged, deep CRPG experience that many die-hards crave.

I am intrigued! This looks like a must-buy, and a good alternative to the FPS-style "Skyrim."

I feel just like i did when

I feel just like i did when Grimrock was announced.. WHEN CAN I PLAY? this one is going to feel like forever till we get it.. Good news is it looks like some solid gameplay is done.. how much is hard to tell..

some things:
Love the open world tun based movement.. looks alot like II and XEEN.. but all dressed up in awesome new graphics..
love the monsters reacting to attacks/misses and such.
just really looks good.

Didn't like health bars.. recently playing MM8 and a huge part of the game was the damage model (monsters have damage skins so the more damage you do the worse they look) and hp's but often until you fought them a few times you had NO IDEA how strong they where.. monsters had "hard shell crab ?/? for HP's once you knew , it showed ?/45 you had to pay attention to how much damage you where doing.. I liked that.. it keeps battles .. interesting. Of course it could be later in game and the ability to tell HP is built enough they can do it...

this might be my "grail" game to watch for awhile..
