Ok, my rude questions to LB:
1) If you truly believer in this new game concept, why dont invest own money? You paid 20M for space trip im sure, that you have enough?
Here is lots of developer which live in poor life condition as bedrooom programmer, you seems to be greedy?

if you look on his kickstarter page he has invested his own money to this point.. much much more then the kickstarter asks for. I think in this case its more a publicity thing then a money grab. From the screen shots and such it was well into development before kickstarter. I don't doubt the extra cash wont hurt, but I dont think it was required..Its also a nice way for him to gauge interest.. good showing, he will feel better about what he has so far.. I tend to think the extra cash will buy alot of the SWAG going into those boxes..

But I am with you on that point, I dislike people who don't NEED kickstarter but use it because name recognition will help them. I would much rather see some small time guy who wont get his stuff done without kickstarter then somebody who can get the money togther use it.. But kickstarter is for anybody.. so he put his goal up, it looks like it will be met and he has shown he has a good following who want something from him..

2) You was good designer of game worlds and systems, but you are very, very bad designer of interfaces. Pleas tell how many people in world you mean are realy able to play first 5 installment of ultima? I know lots guys, which saying this is good games, but nobody is able realy them..
3) I read in Matt Books, that you was influenced by bigger sales of Zeldas that was Ultima sales. For me you seems to by simple weak, because such simple games for masses will have everytime better sales, that more delicate stuff.
4) Why do you now doing such crappy facebook, iOS games?
5) For my single player games are simply better that MMO, because i think we are even now unable do "proper" single games and multiplayer game is much more complex.. I think that todays multiplayer rpg experience is very, very limited (interactivity, economy, ai (npcs do nothing), in game law system - everything dont works and game world is realy twisted with comparision in PnP game, there is possible only fight, dance and chat - if somebody say you crapp you even can punch him, kill.. or sale whole his family to slavery and burn his house or something like that:)).

Silly one from me if you dont

Silly one from me if you dont have better when i played the early Ultimas ( i think it was II or III) there was a whirlpool in the oceans that the game (through dialog or hints) or human nature made you avoid .. when you went in was a secret area.. At the time it was such a "blow me away" moment.. I know adventure games are "enter the black hole" when every ounce of you says not a good idea.. but the whirlpool was basically an enemy, a killing thing.. how would one ever come up with the idea to make it doorway, .. man i cant word this short or nice.. how did one think of that.. take something most players would avoid at all costs and reward them for daring it, testing the waters so to speak. In the days of no internet and hints.. I often wonder who missed this.. (I must admit i cant remember if you had to enter it to finish the game?) I do know those where the days of SAVE and try anything once.. But that single moment defined how i looked at games for the rest of my life.. it helped me explore any game better.. it taught me.. a bad thing inst always bad.. those spikes sticking out of wall, they might hurt you to run into them.. but maybe you can climb them.. its so hard to explain.. or maybe easy.. it really taught me that in video games (maybe life too) not everything is as it looks.. it really was one of those gaming moments where you get the light-bulb over your head.. and for the rest of your life I explored better, with a more open mind.

I noticed a few pics on Shack

I noticed a few pics on Shack news and the super glow outline of monsters really reminded me of Wizardry 8 (first place i remebre the super glow effect and I liked it) one of the last great RPG's done in the standard old school style.. brought on some warm fuzzies.. and an urge to dig out my Wiz8 disks.. I am trying to remember if I ever finished it. it has a super annoying "match your level" monster progression that can make it uber hard if you build your characters wrong. I believe I did.. but as i replayed the first part over and over to get the right blend of classes (and some luck as even from the start it was very easy to die) its all i remember about it.. that and the utter terror of being in a fight with some hard mobs.. and seeing a new pack moving in from a distance.. moving so my back is to a wall would waste attacks.. but if you had to engage both.. ins-ta death most likely.. HARDCORE old school.

last night I fired Arcanum up again.. i doubt I will play more then a few hours.. but man the urge to relieve that old love affair i had with RPG is so strong.. but much like Real Life the idea and the reality are seldom the same .

I was wondering if it rolled

I was wondering if it rolled back.. I was under the assumption it was NEW tiers.. and felt that screwed you guys out, but it seems they where good about it as they should have been. I never got much past the $50 range in looking at packages. I must admit your name on a tombstone forever int he game would be cool. But i picture the scene at the end of The Good the Bad and the Ugly where they (well tuco) are running like mad men to find the right grave.. for about 3- 4 minutes of movie time. Drowned in a sea of stone, one with your name, never to be found.

Yeah, I didn't see anything

Yeah, I didn't see anything in the video that made me excited. I like what he says, though about making everything interactive. That is one thing that bugged me about wow, Tera, and gw2. Why have all this stuff lying around that you can't do anything with? It could be a game changer if done really well. I could see guilds forming around the idea of massive industry. Help out with making a bunch of armor and weapons, get to keep them. I don't know if he plans this, but it'd also be cool to bring in some sims inspired stuff, so it's not all just grinding.

Raph Koster was complaining about the same thing. It IS surprising given LB's reputation for excellent packaging. Maybe he's still burning from Ascension's collectors edition?

That was just a fail in so many ways.. the game was not horrible when it was fully patched up.. but it was very average even then.. ran to slow on the fastest hardware, just a bad release. Then that oversized box.. special editions are cool, but that huge box .. I know nowdays odd boxes with figures, /items is somewhat normal.. but they are normally display items.. that box was not.. (well for most average players). And I may be wrong, but didn't it cost like $30 more for that.. I know it had swag.. but it was a HUGE price back then, i had to rethink it many times before i bought it.

Ascension (and the 3 ultimas before it) is one of the reasons I was surprised the kickstarter went so well.. then tack one everything RG has done since.. not exactly anything I would be excited about.. if he releases more like that.. he does have great ideas and most his games have one or two.. not game changers.. but nice touches..

i do like what i see so far.. but it looks alot like .. well pretty much all the RPG's we have seen in the last 6 years.. puase/rt combat, standard iso/3d camera over back or above.. I guess it will depend on the story and how it plays.. \

and with all my negative i had to go in for one.. cant ruin a perfect "bought all his crap, good or bad" record..
