I could write tons of text arguments bla, bla.. but as i wrote in other arcitle i wrote this:

Games are like with women..
Old games, where becautifull in their time, beautiful enough and was also clever, fun, wise.. But now, if you didnt fucked (played) them in there golden years, you have problem found their beauty... and even if you do, i hard too felt to love again, because there are too old, too wrinkled.
Todays games, are like AAA natural redheads with big boobs nymphos.. very, very beautiful.. but after they open their mouth, you recognize, that their IQ maximally 80, they are stupid. You still could fuck them, but there are empty, you couldnt speak with them, joking, its like brother experience.
I wish us, beatiful and clever games and babes:)"

Simply, i think so, today games are designed for IQ90 americanas 13 years hamburger eaters.. because 1/2 of all game are sold in USA, what is that fact. Because cost of games are bigger and bigger and videogames market is so USA oriented, very few investors want to risk, no to do game for this boring target group users, althrough regarding to surveys average age of gamer is 30+. Simply here arent games for us, old gourmets, if are have very poor production qualities.

Light at end the end of tunel(salvation), is it here, where?
1) Maybe, maybe some ammount of salvation is in Kickstarter, there are still lots of problems, nasty calculation and lies, but Wasteland 2 a Torment 2, Carmageddon are / will be good games.
2) I think and salvation will come from old Europe, because:
a) Mount and Blade - was done in Turkey even without kickstarter and it show us, that could be done.
b) Best FPS of last 13 years - S.T.A.L.K.E.R came from Ukraine.
3) Witcher series is came form Poland, Witcher 3 finaly will be sandbox, finaly they have technology and money, to do game, which they wanted to do 10 years ago. Same Cyberpunk 2077
4) Gothic series, came from Germany Gothic series, Risen is a bit decline, but it was realised in small team cca 20 people. BTW Matt should finaly review Albion Bluebyte game, if this game came out in USA, not in Germany is everywhere..
5) In Prague (czech republic) - Warhorse studio(there are blogs) (ex Take 2 Mafia series designer is leader of project) boys working on medieval 15th real world century rpg. They now saying something about 2015 and show empty location video (only assets fidelity), but realistic even fucking fuctional toilet included. Update: - Budget they claim that 4 milions of dollars is enough, so we can have 50/4= 12 good games for price of 1 "big" american game.
6) Grimrock is stupid generic copy of EOD or DM, without atmosphere, but still better something that noting - Finland.
7) Precursors, did you even heard about this game? Too big, too unfinished, but still very good game.

Simply europian designers still want to do good not stupid games, in america still want maybe only 1 big company (Bethesda), they havent money-resources for make zillions of fatastic assets and animation, because (teams are smaller up to 100, in American teams are much bigger 300-800) usualy, but they still dont lost the edge, still want to do realstic (in terms of believable worlds) good games.
So the capical is USA and quality developers adult games in Europe. Japan developers are mad, and everytime were, theirs maximum is Dragon Dogma or Dark Souls, but nothing better, rest of Asia want to do only MMO games. So solution is simple, if quality is important, shut up and save some money, we know want to do or stop be lazy do it themselves in america.. But im affraid, that american maximum (except Bethesda + maybe inXile) for now is something like Amalur or Diablo 3 - great assets, animations, colors, but stupid game.

Good FPS game, Farcry 2 was good, all these Modern Warfares, Call of Duties or Medal of Honors, are simply like "porn with lightgun", like designer of Mafia named them. I didnt play Rage too much long, but looks also good.

I think HomeBrew has shown

I think HomeBrew has shown no ideas can be found.. we are getting pretty stagnant.. everything is FP, that in itself is not a HUGE problem as 3D lends to that point of view, so its not that we have to many FP games.. its that we have to many FPS.. Seeing fresh ideas, some are not even fresh, but ideas from old games revitilised with new graphics or game play mechanics.. My problem with games nowdays, I like FPS, I like RTS, I like GOD GAMES.. but a modern combat FPS where you take on terrorists.. or some 3rd world army.. dont we have enough of those? a RTS that is just has resource and tank rush.. done a million times.. new coat of paint is not NEW in any stretch.. There have been very few things added to the FPS game style in 10 years.. regenerating Shields (was this good?) limited weapons carried ( also while more real, good too?) me i preferred the 10 health shoot outs where one mistake meant death... not he hide, regen, repeat.. forever to kill one hard guy. multi guns.. more interesting to decide to make this battle easy with big gun with few shots, or hard with crappy gun with lots of bullets knowing a boss later might be impossible with that slow crappy gun. CVOver system (we had that , we called it walls and LEAN.. now you stick like its velcro.. i truely hate this game mechanic above all others added to FPS games. otherwise.. nothing new .. just way prettier. There seems to be an interest in reviving the STEALTH part of FPS lately.. but its getting overdone now too.

There is the real problem, good ideas getting hammered hard.. one dev revives and old game style successfully ( or makes something new) the cpy cats drive the "cool" out of it by mass producing it over and over. I keep hoping for more Grimrock games.. suprisinly that one has not been overdone after that success.. or maybe its just to soon.

Do i think the light is at the nend of the tunnel? no and yes.. I dont think there will be any great change in games.. but I do think we cant keep going the way we are.. you cant spend 10 Million on a game anymore.. not even BF or MW.. you just cant keep doing it and spitting them out non stop.. smaller good games are the key. not Huge games.

PAL / NTSC / 42

Indeed in many ways a PAL capable C64/C128 and a PAL capable Atari800XL or 130XE is almost preferable over the NTSC versions as more software is available for it. The Amiga is capable of switching on boot alas the Commodore and Atari 8bit lines of systems are pretty much tied to their origins.

The MSX is capable of switching from PAL 50Hz to NTSC 60Hz video modes if you know what to do.

Light..

Question was where you see (and if you see) light at the end of the tunnel? This is want to know, I wrote only my idea, im expecting yours.

Yes there are big generalisation and simplyfication, but todays games marketplace is such simple, i would like to see something else, but is reality. Games are know big business and rapid changes and miracles are imposssible or rare.. Create new company, and create new game within, takes some time, even if yours resources are unlimited. It could be same like in HW production America+Europe, simply these continents no longer able to produce such items for good money/performance ratio.. there should be paralel in games, that America and Japan (especialy) are almost done.

I simply dont see to much companies, which games i realy expecting in tension.. There are quite games as Rage, Dishonored, but i dont expect nothing wonderful like maybe 10 years ago, when still some miracles came from Olymp to the plebs. Year 85-95 this was fest, we could eat ambrosia on every corner.

Seems like an

Seems like an over-generalization and -simplification of the actual reality, which is that good developers are everywhere on the planet. I will say, however, that for whatever reason the vast majority of retro homebrews come out of Europe these days, rather than North America. It's part of the reason why I've added several PAL computers to my collection, since a few take PAL-system quirks to eek different performance out of the computer over NTSC machines (C-64 and Atari 8-bit, in particular).
