I just came across this gem, and it really reminded me of Shoot'em Up Construction Kit on the C64. The full product lets you create stand alone executables while the demo just lets you play around with the toolset... no save. The only negative seems to be the cost (£29.95 approx US$48), as it seems a bit steep for this kind of engine.

Anyone have any experience with it?

This looks great... I'll give it a go. Now I just need to get my hands on some Raiden sprite rips. :-)

If you check into this I'd be interested to get your opinion on it. I've always been into shoot'em ups.. I even tried my hand at seuck back in the day... to little success, as I didn't have the manual. ;-)

Richard Bayliss of TND Games has done some fairly impressive seuck work on the C64. He even modded it to do things like horizontal platformers and such. You can check his work out here: http://tnd64.unikat.sk/download_games.html

There where several of these

There where several of these about 5 years ago.. all in various stats of completion.... I don't think any where ever finished .

http://www.shootemupcreator.com/index.htm i don't think you can actually pay for it.. I believe i tried and the webpages where scetchy or died.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dan_richardson_uk/SeuB.html not updated since 07 ...

I had a couple of my SEUCK games on Fred Fish disks back in the day.. Loved making them.. its like Pixil art.. everybody complained how limited it was .. but I was into getting the most out of it.. how far could you go with the limited stuff you had. SEUCK beauty was how extremely simple it was.. The one above looks interesting.. 3D models.. i doubt it has a 3Dmodeler in it.. but i see 2D sprites. (or vector looking 2D).. I am going to look more into this.. I loved making shooter.

I guess since the program is

I guess since the program is aimed at development, it sort of misses the mark for mass consumption. A project like that probably needs to build up slowly and get a community of support around it similar to GameMaker before it can really be viable.

In a sort of related note: It might be an interesting idea to create a page or forum post of interesting looking kickstarter projects.

Looks quite interesting. I

Looks quite interesting. I was a bit disappointed when Axis Game Factory didn't get ANY traction on Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1881693700/axis-game-factory-dream-b... . These tools these days seem so promising for non-programmers to get some new ideas out there...
