Hi my name is XXXX and its been 12 months and 8 days since I last played WoW.

Now that the new Expansion is out, has anybody been sucked back in? I'm close.. I'm resisting so far, but its getting harder. Back in the very early days of WoW I said if they had GNOME MONKS i would never quit playing... well unlesss im mistaken you can be a Gnome MONK... I'm close to falling back into that trap.. Just wanted to hear if anybody else had ventured back in. I felt the Darnari and BE noob areas where quite fun.. as was the Goblina nd WWolf .. do the Panda's get a decent treatment?

And yes I play GNOMES first in any game.. or the equivilant ... Hobbits, Dorfs.. Whatever the sickly ratdog things are in GWII.. etc.. and my favorite was my Gnome Monk in EQ II.. Ghandi I miss the little guy.. especailly his backspin kick!

hehe...Yeah, that's another one I MUST play.

Thing about WOW is there's no big hurry. Probably better to wait awhile for the dust to settle anyway. I kinda regret purchasing it to be honest, since my old friends are long gone. There is a new friend on there now, though, so that might be interesting. My prob with WOW is I always enjoy reaching the level cap, but the endgame stuff leaves me cold.

I guess that's just a holdover from my CRPG favorites that have a definite ending. I like the feeling of accomplishment and closure you get with a campaign. I hate the lack of that in MMOs.

I think the golden age (well my golden age) for WoW was WOTLK. It was tbhe most fun i've had from the game. I bought and played Cataclysm while i did enjoy it it's when my interest for the game waned. I can't comment of MOP but I've heard good things about it. How are the heroics?

There is plenty i dont like,

There is plenty i dont like, 90% is not the game but the people playing hte game.. and unforntantly thats in ALL online games, whne htey start people stay failry civil as they need help, huat as they slowly get a grip on everything, then anybody who has a question is trollbait. Where WoW always shined for me.. I could do it (group) and if i got frustrated i could SOLO pretty much anything i wanted.. WoW also has unlimited (almost) paths of advancement.. actual levels, gear, vanity items, factions, tradeskills, BG points, Arena Points, achievements, and more..

While I have abstained from WoW, i must admit its the most fleshed out MMORPG out there, the numbers simply do not lie. its got to a point its that guy you hate becuase he is rich, gets all the girls and has all the toys you want.. he isnt doing anything wrong, but you envy him ...

But the numbers (players) are its biggest weakness too.. 100 players and 1 is bad you may not have to deal with its. 100,000 players and 1,000 are bad, you will hit one. I have mixed feelings about that, I enjoy the game and hate to let somebody else dictate if i play. The sad part is when you get in a good guild (rare) the game is incredibly fun, quite jhoneslty one of the best online games i know with a goog group.. problem is us damn humans.. we can never stay satisfied.. eventally guild drama happens.. sombody doenst get what they expect they should and they all cray over items that dont actually exist.

hmmm... your right.. why would I go back to that..

BUT I WANT TO PLAY MY GOME MONK!!!!! I know I will succum sometime as soon as the snow flies..I too dont mind GWII atm but even with yard work I'm almost ready to start my 3rd character (have 2, one is maxed and the second is a day or two away from it too).. Game is good but has some bad balance issues at endgame for PvP I mentioned it before.. I'm by no means a great PvP .. but as an engi.. i dont lose.. ever.. unlesss its another engi or a macro king ( nobody can beat macro people unless you macro yourslef) I can keep any class perpetually stunned, they never get to hit back.. thats a flaw.It does take perfect timing on my part.. if i mess up i do die.. but again, bad to have a class that can own that much (in a game that does offer PvP) im sure it will be nerfed and think i heard they are increasing the delay on some skills to fix it (but i have 2 so i can swap and will still be able to lock a player down.. unless they put them both on same timer).. I alos love my hunter.. was a Huntard in WoW.. and like it in GWII.. but again im seeing a slight flaw... i can kite almost anything.. so when im bored i kill uber stuff, takes alot of time but ... flashback to druids or Wizards in EQ in the bad old days.. killing stuff that a raid was suposed to kill but kiting. But I do love the event quests.. (when warhammer did them first I knew they where one of the best ideas to come along for MMORPGS in along time) I will sit in an area and do the better ones over and over.. (its actually faster then plain old leveling). And the quest givers becoming loot chests (so to speak) that you can buy stuff off is anther great idea.. teh explore and vista points are cool too. If i had one gripe it was I never knew (first time throuhg) where to go once I completed an area.. some starte zones are hooked to zones you gotta pass way to high level stuff to get to the stuff you need to be at.. maybeits a tutorial of sorts to teach you waht you cant fight?

WoW and mists, GWII, Torchlight II, Borderlands II, and next week UFO... no lack of fun.. oh ya.. two expansions ot Skyrim too.. even if one is just a castle builder simulation.. and CoH2 in the spring.. I hear War of the Roses is pretty dang good too..

I'm sure I'll use a free

I'm sure I'll use a free trial at some point, but they haven't gotten any money from me since the second expansion. I used to love this game, and most of the stuff I like is still there to some extent, but it feels too much like more-of-the-same for me to play it for more than a few weeks in a row.

Hell, no. Pandas? None for me, thanks. One of the things I hated about the game before was too many snot-nosed brats running around. Now you can probably double or triple that. You couldn't drag me back on that game now; quite happy with GW2 for my MMO fix.

Supposedly this expansion got WoW's numbers back up to over 10 million again, so apparently you're not alone...
