I have not bought any of the Flashbacks.

I have not bought any of the Flashbacks....they just need a little something more. Now if they would allow you to plug an SD card in and load images, you could then play all atari games. Not just the few they put in. That would be nice. I already got emulators. I do have the atari Paddle controller that connects to the tv but no way to play Kaboom on it. :) Kaboom needs to be included....somehow....in some package....with proper paddles.

I received my Atari Flashback 3 in the mail and I hooked it up and I love it,
the graphics are fine on my TV which is a monster old school model
The joysticks are looser than the original ones, I have 2 original Atari 2600 Joysticks .
The games are as I remember them
The sound quality is great

1 question though. . . . . . .

Do all of the Atari Flashbacks have different games or the same games plus added games ???
I couldn't find Space Invaders on my Flashback 3

Yes, the Flashback 3 and 4 joysticks are looser than the originals, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The new paddles are much closer to the original paddles, but that's not surprising for a variety of reasons, including the original paddles not needing tweaks and also the tolerances of the paddle games.

There is a small core group of games that are the same across Flashbacks, but generally speaking, it's a different game mix each time, with more games added each go-round (again, not counting the Flashback 1 in the equation). Space Invaders is missing from the the 3 due to licensing. The one in the 4 is obviously a completely different version tuned to the emulation hardware, not the 2600 hardware.

The emulation (software) engine in the 3 is pretty good, and improved/tweaked further in the 4. The only game on the 3 that's a major problem is Secret Quest since there's no black/white switch and thus no way to bring up the additional in-game options. Instead of addressing the issue with the 4, they just removed the game entirely...

Adventure II is just a hack

Adventure II is just a hack of Adventure I, which mixes up some elements and makes things harder. I have all the Flashbacks except for the first one, which I reviewed back in 2004: http://armchairarcade.com/neo/node/573 . The Flashback 1 is by far the worst, not even worth having other than as a curiosity. Each Flashback other than 1 has their advantages, I suppose.
