My brother and I just completed "Orcs Must Die 2" on STEAM last week. Really fun game in the style of Dungeon Defenders. I'm really enjoying this genre of "action tower defense" or whatever they call it. So far, the ones I've seen are goofy in style, which is fine, though I'd also like to play some that were more serious. What I particularly liked about OMD2 was the focus on co-op play; great move, though I'd have been even happier with more than 2 player possibilities.

Anyone have recommendations for games in this genre? The only other one I've played is Dungeon Defenders, which was a bit repetitive in my opinion.

We've got Resident Evil 5

We've got Resident Evil 5 we're playing now that's supposedly famous for its co-op. We played the first level or so. I must admit not to care for it all initially; the viewing angle is cumbersome (by design, I hear) and the events just seem so scripted...have to die repeatedly until you figure out what the designer wants you to do; forget about coming up with your own strategy.

I hope it gets better.

several of the FPS Tower

several of the FPS Tower Defence games on Steam.. Sanctum is one i believe. Co-op is a bit harder.. while several games support it , few do it well. Borderlands is a great Co-Op game ( but its just a FPS shorter with quests). Red Alert III is co-op.. RTS.... but Co-OP i dint like the co-op part as its force in single player ( ai controls Second Player) it might be better with a human.

As for tower defence games, thre quite a few good ones of those too( but again :( not co-op). Tower Wars just came out on STEAM and its pretty good. ther is a VS mode thats not to bad.

Orcs II was and is a better game then the first. BUT! its way easier then the first IMHO.

I know oyu didnt care for it, but I thought The Hunted might be pretty good with a human in co-op.. but i liked the game except for the game breaking bugs.. i have played it through 2X

I really enjoy co-op games.. but im at the age in my life when all my old friends have.. quit video gaming, have no time ( kids, wives, etc), or I dont keep in touch with enough.. not succumbing to Txt messageing /twitter/facebook my be my downfall.. but as a tech guy, i know its strange, i hate the "you are always accesible" thing cell phones have brought and I have fought (a lossing battle) with it since.. I DONT want my phone ringing when Im flying a RC plane, when IM in the middle of dungeon, when im driving in bumper to bumper traffic.. I can remeber camping.. the HUGE draw was NOBODY could bother me.. I miss it.. and I have used up my lifteime supply of "i left my phone at home", people are starting to see through my ... er.. um.. lies? (if you dont leave a message it wasnt important).
