For all that don't know, and I doubt that anyone doesn't - Retro Gaming Radio is back! Now with Matt Chat, the occasional picture of Bill's retro basement, and RGR, I don't think there has been a better time to be into retro. Lets hope we get more.

I've been listening for a while now. It's pretty good, though I would like less on eBay and more on content. In any case, I signed up to their site and I put down you as the referrer, so we're both mentioned in Episode 266: http://retromaccast.ning.com/forum/topics/episode-266-forbidden-fruit . Nice that they do that.

JUST seeing this now Bill! Thanks so much very cool, I will get it now!

Geez I just realized, ME mentioned on MacCast? Funny stuff as I am such a PC guy, though I don't buy or use modern APPLE products and I DO tend to poke fun here and there I had been listening to this podcast for ages and prior to dedicating myself to PC platform I used to buy MAC ADDICT MAGAZINE, you know back when they were more cool and fun? Still, in the end I have always been into tech in general so it's all good!

Heck I had even set up on the Forums over there over 4 years ago!

For those worried about space

For those worried about space or what-have-you on their iOS devices, I highly recommend "Downcast" for all your podcasting listening needs. It's free. I downloaded it many months back when I wasn't satisfied with how iTunes was handling podcasts and I haven't looked back since. It's feature rich, has many options, and easily allows me to work with podcasts in exactly the manner that I wish.

My favorites:History

My favorites:

History according to bob
stuff you should know
stuff you missed in history class
common sense
hardcore history
skeptoid

Lately I've been dabbling with the survival podcast. Good stuff but probably a bit too hardcore for most people--tons of stuff about gardening, raising goats, etc. Still, I salute the guy for putting out a good hour and a half worth of content five days a week. Amazing!

As far as I'm concerned, Hardcore History and Common Sense are must-listens for anybody. Skeptoid is another one that I love to see in my inbox.

I gave up on Retrogaming Roundup. I love the guys, but the huge files were death for my mobile, and that's where I do all my podcast listening. They should really, REALLY break that up into weekly episodes of an hour, tops.

Thanks, Bill, for the head's up on Exploration and Star Talk. I hadn't heard of those either, and, like Rob, I love the hosts! Really looking forward to trying those out.

Cool list, Bill.

"Startalk" and "Exploration" leaped out at me as must-listens, being that I'm a fan of both "hosts." I didn't know Mr. Kaku had a podcast, otherwise I'd have long been a listener.

I downloaded an episode of "Retro Gaming Roundup," but gad, is that a long show! I'll give it a try this week. I liked what I heard in the past, but never listened to even half an episode before I got distracted by something else.

A lot of the game radio podcasts you listed seem very narrow-focused, which is good in a way. But it makes me appreciate Armchair Arcade's all-encompassing approach to game and tech coverage. I like retro games, but not ONLY retro games. And not only subjects from one platform! I like it all, old and new!

Several others I'm looking into from your list. Onion and Ricky Gervais seem like they're worth trying, and perhaps one of the "skeptic" podcasts.

Thanks for the list!

I wasn't aware of it. Looks good, though. I'll add it to the rotation and give it a try.

I'm a podcast junkie now! Any recommendations?

I was unaware that Retrogaming Radio was back until I watched last week's Matt Chat, but quickly went and downloaded the last episode, as well as a bootload of "Passenger Seat Radio" episodes. It's good to hear Shane's voice again.

I've been doing a lot of driving recently, and quickly got tired listening to my meager MP3 selection on the road, so I went ahead and downloaded the last dozen or so "Armchair Arcade Radio" podcasts. Driving is the perfect, or actually ONLY, time it makes sense for me to listen to a podcast in one sitting, and I've already exhausted all the podcasts in the course of a few days.... and I'd already listened to those before when they were released. Any new AA podcasts on the horizon?

I also downloaded a few non-gaming-related podcasts. I found a couple interesting episodes, but nothing that have straight-up clicked with me yet.

So, do you podcast junkies have any recommendations? It doesn't have to be gaming related. "Retro Gaming Roundup" is a good suggestion from Bill. I recall Matt posting about a podcast a while back that (I think) was history-related, but I can't for the life of me find the post. What is it that you guys listen to?

Anyhow, it's good to be actually listening to something other than commercial radio in the car, and it's fun to listen to podcasts now. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I would love a self driving

I would love a self driving car! Of course, they'll only be really great when everybody else.

Retro rocks!
