Still can't log in. Hopefully will be resolved soon. My friend who lives six miles from me can log in no problem though. Strange.

Meh, I couldn't resist. I ordered a boxed copy on Amazon with the super saving shipping. Hopefully, by the time it arrives the login issues will be sorted out.

Oops, my projected delivery

Oops, my projected delivery date is May 18, and I'll be out of the office. Oh well, I guess I get to play on the evening of the 21st. Maybe by then the bugs will be ironed out...

I'm eager to try it out, but

I'm eager to try it out, but not so desperate as to wade into the opening day mess. I think I'll wait a few weeks (months?) until they work out the kinks.

this scares me a bit, the beta had some unforgivable lag issues, even a few weeks before release they had not cleared up in my playtime. I assumed (and hoped) it was just to few servers and them stressing hte equipment as hard as they could. I also had alot of login issues with the beta (and again, even up till about 3-4 weeks ago).. this seems a bit sketchy as it was so close to release.. Now I am worried, if its having issues this time of day, i cant imagin what 5PM will be like. The lag in beta about did me in.. you could deal, and when it did play, it played well, but the lag I experianced never went away. if this always on DRM and lag are both part of the game I will be hugely disapointed. I (again) assumed Blizzard is smart enough to have delt with it before release.

Guess i will just pray its a hicup.. but with the issues in beta so close to release i must admit Im a bit worried. And now i dont htink i iwll be home till late. thinking of buying ahouse and have some paperwork to do tonight at bank i think.

My boxed collector's edition

My boxed collector's edition is supposed to arrive today, so I'll hopefully be trying it tonight. I'll be 100% new to this, since I purposely avoided the beta and most impressions...

I played a ton of the original Diablo, Diablo II not so much. I'm a fan of that style of game, though.

so? its been like 8 hours

so? its been like 8 hours since it was released, nobody chiming in ( hehehee).. I was going to stay up till i saw PST.. eh.. 2AM my time.. to play maybe an hour ( or worse, play to much) with work at 6Am..
Right now I am really wondering about Spring/summer releases of big games. is so dang nice, why would anybody want to be inside, yet when i get off work today I would like to get an hour or ... 10 in playing it. I'm not that excited.. but face it Blizzard makes pretty good games, I would suspect this is the case again.. I was in the beta, but it only let you play one small act so it was hard to judge, but I liked it. I debated taking the day off to play.. already built up almost 3 weeks vacation.. but it was just to short notice (didnt really think about it till i downloaded it last night).

I expcet some impression

I like the explore aspect of

I like the explore aspect of diablo, seeing the new monsters (yes, most are just recolored) and yes, the WOW this sowrd kicks butt thing.. Exploring and seeing new has always been a huge draw to me. One of the reasons I loved WoW.. even zones I had been through 1000X could hold a new spot.. I never knew there was a bandit camp just to the west of Stormwind in the Mountians up the waterfall for years.. Finding a gravemarker int eh middle of nowhere in some corner of the map was alwasy fun to me.. why? no idea.. but I enjoyed it. Diablo has this aspect, to a lesser degree, but still fun to me. I wont lie there is a horrible grind to the games and I notice this too.. but most games have some grind at some point in them. Catch 22, we hate grind, yet if a game lasts 8 hours without it, we complain.. and face it, any game that lasts has some grind in it.. And one other thing on Diablo.. love or hate.. the skill trees.. I love how you can gimp your character so badly he is worthless... yes I said love.. not hate.. This is a game doing what all games do, but on a zen like level.. all games put carrots in difficult spots.. that 1UP that will probebly kill you a time or two to get.. but if you master it.. free 1 up.. that power up that is in some psot you cant seem to reach, only to discover if you remeber later... your right above it, if you drop off this cliff! wooot, power up! Diablo has this in super crafty way.. manage your skills poorly and you make the game far harder, or downright impossible.. but master its (skill tree's) and you can have a character that can mow down most anything with ease.. and since there are several characters.. you get to figure this out on all of them.. almost a puzzle in a action game.

get it for PS3.
