After watching them on Ebay for the last few years on and off, and with prices fluctuating from about $150 to $200 shipped I finally deceided to pick one up. I got an OK deal (by Ebays's prices) as it was $150 shipped, with Both games and an worn box. The Price was slightly lower as its missing the connection block screws (metric 6 mm, will cost me about 50 cents to replace). Its the original Green button, and ALL lights, covers and buttons work. Still a chunk of change for a controler (that will never have new games) and 2 games. Normally I wouldnt have done this, but missing my chance on a Jaguar (atari) cd unit when they where $99 ish.. and now seldom go under $200 has made me a bit more "willing" to spend on stuff i want. Even then this is a pretty big "if" for me. If i dont enjoy it I feel like it can be sold (again, by Ebays current trend) again, with little to no loss on my part.

of course i say all this as I won it a few days ago, and its still not here, so it may turn out it was decribed wrong. I'm a bit interested what a $200 (originly) game is like. I was always a huge fan of Mechwarrior games and B.O.T.T.S in the arcade, so I'm hoping this will be a "fix" for that craving. Now the fun part. Earlier this year i picked up my first 360 Slim which replaced my old Xbox in my bedroom. I put the old Xbox in a box and packed it away.. now i gotta dig it out and ifgure a good place to hook it. And not to metion, where do you set up a 3 foot wide controler.. I have a coffee table in front of my couch. but thats a foot high.. going to be interesting to say the least. I will post later on it and how it plays...

yes, perma death. I can

yes, perma death. I can understand it, and I think it iwll add ot the game, but i worry the complicated controls with perma death attached may be frrustrating. the eject button has a clear flip cover over it.. and most units are missing this.. I wonder if you get a bit "rough" in the heat of battle a few missions in when it needs to be used? :)

I have always been intrigued

I have always been intrigued by this game = the controller is one marvellous aspect - but there are other novel gameplay features. I believe that failure to hit the ejector seat button before your mech gets destroyed apparantly results in your game save being deleted - harsh!!
