This intrigues me: http://www.artemis.eochu.com/ Basically, you can "play Star Trek," with each person behind their own computer manning a station on a virtual bridge, while another person is the Captain, with no computer, and barks orders. Sounds like an interesting mix of RPG/simulation and LARPing/pen and paper role-playing.

It's obviously meant for same room networking, but it does appear to work over the Internet as well. I'd probably want to play it at some social event, though, myself, for the full effect...

I watched some of the fan videos linked on the site. I believe the answer is yes.

I looked at the site, and my first thought was "This is FRICKING AWESOMELY COOL!"

Then my second thought was, "I wonder if this could be tweaked into a Galaxy Quest style mock-u-mentary?"

A coworker of mine said he played a game like this in the computer lab at his college (probably sometime during the late 90's guessing from his age). It sounds like it would be a lot of fun.
