Gotta say thaks for pointing

Gotta say thaks for pointing this out again. I actually have the boxed set (first 6) i picked up at a store closeout years ago.. but its not Win7 freindly so was always a pain to work with. GOG sure makes games easy.

As I have played M&M3 (4 and 5) about 5-6 times through (as receenlty as a year ago in fact) I started on 6 (mandate of heaven). I recall this game, and do remeber playing it, but to be 100% honest Im not sure If i finished it or not, I KNOW I finished 1 or 2 of the last ones (6-7-8) but they all meld togther a bit.
Well needless to say I installed 6 while watching RED DWARF on netflix (been ages sicen I watched it, i have hte DVD set, but netflix is just so much easier). I remeber enjoying these, but having a tough time in the begining with the combat. As a FPS lover I was arrow/spell slinger and finish up with melee. Now you all can laugh.. I played a few hours and was getting frustrated.. I was getting slaughterd and rolling back to saves. I was close to the ugly old, fight/win/save, rince repeat model. It was then i relized this game has PAuSE combat (like i say its been ages).. Im so used to the space bar doing it I Just assumed my memory was bad and it didnt have turn based. ENTER key to the rescue! Once this tiny detail was sorted out my little party became quite deadly and the saves came less and less.

Started at about 7:00PM.. went to sleep at 3:30AM... been ages since I did that with a game! I'm having a Blast. Once again thanks for pointing htis deal out!!!

I snagged it too. It was too

I snagged it too. It was too good of a deal to pass up. I'll play the earliest games from my boxed copies on the 8-bit systems, but obviously all of the later ones (most of which I have boxed, which is handy for the documentation and "feel") I have for the PC, so having these already set up to go was just too convenient.

M&M XEEN quite possibly my

M&M XEEN quite possibly my favortie of the old school (that isnt wizardry). This one of the first with an Auto map in the old days and it made the game SOOOO much more fun. I have played it from start ot finsih 4- or 5 times and recently did it again about a year ago.

Keep in mind this is old school and a few of the "more fun back then" game mechanics are in full force.. The back track to a free heal, the shrines/wells/rocks that up your stats for a day backtracking. Potins/barrels you have no idea what they do till you use them and most cases use them on wrong person. Thos of you who save before every action will do fine. You have to spend your cash carefully as monsters do not respawn, once they are dead, tehy are dead. so ther eis a limited amount of cash in the game.

M&M III is actully 2 games, and if combines make a 3rd game, not sure if GOG's has the third game or not (used to be some licencing issues with it). YES! it does (swords of Xeen)!

I hope your link is one that benefits AA, i picked um all up too! Thanks for the heads up!

M&M 6 is great. It still

M&M 6 is great. It still holds up pretty well today IMO. Like you, I haven't played through any of the earlier ones, though I've heard great things about the Xeen games.

Complete M&M series (?)

I went ahead and ordered M&M 7 & 8 through the link, which I didn't know they offered on GoG. I now have the entire M&M series, but haven't played a one of them yet. :-(

When I finish up on "Starscape," I thought about starting with M&M 6, the beginning of a M&M trilogy. Not sure I want to go all-out old-school and start with the first one, but I may give it a shot.
