Armchair Arcade Featured in Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine!

For all you frequent fliers out there, you might have noticed an article in the March 2011 issue of Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine entitled, Play it Again, Man!. It was written several months back (thank you, print lead time) by Jennifer Nalewicki under advisement from yours truly and my frequent partner-in-crime, Matt Barton. Besides mentioning us and Armchair Arcade, you'll also see a nod to our book, Vintage Games, in the header. While it's not a long piece, it's nice to see something targeted to mainstream audiences like Spirit Magazine is featuring positive videogame content. Check out the print version on your next Southwest Airlines flight or click here for the PDF or here for the decidedly less fun text-only version.

Nice, but....

Cool, a mention in a mainstream mag!

I'm just curious, though, how much input you guys actually had in the selection of games featured. For the most part, they seem out of character with the type of games you guys profess to play. Maybe I could see Bill selecting some of these, but none of these games seem remotely up Matt's alley. I'd actually be surprised if Matt has actually HEARD about some of these games, much less played them!

Still, it's otherwise a great free advertisement for AA and Vintage Games!

100% input. It was a direct phone interview with both of us. The writer was going for a very specific angle though, that if you liked classic game x, you'll like modern game y (and I don't agree with the description for Braid--it's not linear), and she was really starting at a zero point of knowledge, so it wasn't easy. It was a struggle trying to go cross-platform as well (and this was conducted before the Kinect was even released!)...
