As you know, I occasionally post about OUTRAGEOUS eBay auctions. Well, instead of doing one-offs, I thought it would make sense to post about them here in the interest of consolidation and easier tracking.

Scott Adams Gold Collection for Apple II and TRS-80

This one was definitely a surprise. I've seen these go to $100+, but never $779.00, plus shipping and handling, April 14, 2011. That's just insane: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&...

Guess I missed my chance to score one of these a year or so ago...

The auction is long over but

The auction is long over but last year there was a Vectrex still in the sealed box with all games including lightpen and 3D glasses with a starting bid of $1500.00.

I hate to say it but if I had the money.....

Shadowkeep for the Apple II

The legendary RPG for the Apple II, Shadowkeep, sold for $550 plus shipping and handling, April 12, 2011: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&... . Not too surprising since it was sealed. I have a complete, boxed copy of this one, but have yet to check the disks to see if the data is intact. Apparently it's quite the challenge finding a version with the original characters still on it, and there is no ROM version out there like that.

As long as you dont start the EBAY how far can you push it picture thread... Im glad that craze ended a few (ok more thant a few) years ago... people using reflective items and taking pictures of them in the nude... there was a website devoted to insane auctions (normaluy of that type) many a moon ago..

Look at ricer/tuner cars.. a 95 honda that looks like ist been rolled down a cliff for $20,000 .. there is a website deovted to those (overpriced cars on ebay)...

Recently I was looking at a spare jag toliet bowl a couple months ago... seen one in box for $2000, right beside the $200 ones.

lack of prespective is common nowdays... i have some of those issues myslef :)

It's new and sealed and complete, but keep in mind this is essentially a manual in a plastic bag with a disk...!
