Interviewed on The Static Hour with Don Kurtz!

Bill Loguidice's picture

I just finished my live appearance on Don Kurtz's The Static Hour. Give the replay a listen. On his show, we talk about all sorts of things, including the Jets (they won!), videogames, computers, fitness, and family. Don has previously interviewed all sorts of other people, including porn stars, musicians, and our very own, Matt Barton. It's an honor to be included in such a diverse interview pool...

enjoyed it, must admit I

enjoyed it, must admit I liked his few questions at the very end, just adds to "who you are" in a small way. Overall it was pretty good i thought. Im slowly warming up to audio only stuff pod casts have to be dang exciting (or good subjects) to keep me listening hence I dont listen to much, but I enjoyed this and the few Podcasts from here... more time and I would listen to them all.

and Yes, i seldom dislike a team, that seems so sad to hate a team.. but YES!!!!! the pats are not going again... all is well in NFL land! I think I will root for a JETS BEARS Superbowl..

Jets fans have been near the top of hard luck fans (though not at the top because there are other teams who've never even won one Super Bowl), so it's good that we finally have things to truly look forward to for the past two years. They're also doing it in entertaining - and often bizarre on and off the field - fashion, which is always a plus.

Your "North Jersey" is showing. :-)

Just to make my wife happy...

I am hoping for a Jets and Packers Superbowl combination. My wife is a dyed in the wool Packers fan and she really wants them to go to the superbowl this year, so I am fixi...uh er um that is, hoping that the Packers make it. *pay no attention to the tranq gun behind my back, that's for .... sedating the cats!! Yeah the cats! No, 80cc's of elephant tranquilizer isn't too much... What d'ya mean it's the right amount for a person!?!?! I have no idea what you are talking about! Oh, and pay no heed to the 21 other darts I have for the gun... My cats run fast...* :-) Good luck and may the best team win!!!

Good show!

I started listening a few minutes before the 7PM timeslot, and a show started... He was talking to another woman for a bit. After a while, I started thinking "Hey, wait a minute, it's past 7, and no mention of Bill." I reloaded the page and realized I missed the first 5 minutes or so of Bill's interview; I was listening to an older show. I guess that's how "BlogRadio" works...

Anyhow, Bill came off excellently, of course, and so did the host, Don Kurtz. He was very generous and engaging, and asked good questions and kept the interview flowing nicely. Considering that videogaming culture might be dull to those outside of the "geek" community (especially after last week's episode was apparently an interview with a former porn star), Mr. Kurtz' managed to keep the show lively, and Bill answered entertainingly and knowledgeably, even for non-geeks, I suspect. The workout discussion was also a nice bonus.

I was surprised to hear that Bill was a Jets fan. I didn't know he (or anyone else here on AA) followed American Football. Unfortunately (this year), I am a Colts fan. :-( I hope the Jets make it past the Steelers, and one of my friends is a huge Bears fan, so a Jets/Bears Superbowl will be very interesting!

Anyhow, kudos for a good show! I'm going to have to keep up with "The Static Hour" now.

It's funny you mention

It's funny you mention missing the first five minutes of the show, Rob. That's exactly what happened on my end too, though luckily not quite so long. I missed the part about his wallet. He said to call in two to three minutes after 7, which is what I did. It's not an intuitive site/service, but you can't beat the price. Also, I saw no way to download the show, so I just subscribed in iTunes and grabbed the MP3 that way!

As for sports, I'm a Mets and Jets fan, so there have been many lean years between good years. I enjoy basketball, but don't bother to follow it. I'm probably a baseball fan first and football fan second. Everything else doesn't really register as far as watching/following goes.

Great interview! I like the

Great interview! I like the way Don has this setup. I'm surprised he doesn't have at least a few folks calling in to ask questions--that seems to be the goal. If we do end up on there to talk about Gameplay, we should make sure to fully pimp it here and elsewhere to try to get some AA regulars to call-in with good questions.

Yes, I'm not sure what his promo plan is, but whatever it is, the word doesn't seem to really get out in time. We should invite him to do some blog posts on here promoting his show, maybe a few days before the next broadcast, then right after it. I'd have no problem helping him promote his show since it more or less fits in with our basic mantra (gaming/tech/fun/mature themes/etc.).

Aside from me messing up some

Aside from me messing up some obvious things, I loved this interview. Atari 7200? Armchade Arcare? What the hell is www.armchadearcare.com? Other than that I think Bill did a great interview and has me pumped for the documentary.
