Really, instead of trying to

Really, instead of trying to recreate and do better than the current logo under the current logo's parameters, I'd rather see some more original ideas from you. Like I said, there's no special reason for us to stick to the current logo style...

Absolutely no offense taken.

Absolutely no offense taken. I'm working on the yellows now. Toning them back is causing an issue with the gradient not gradienting?!

Need to try a few options.

I like it too

And good on you for having a go, I wouldn't try because I am no good at this sorta thing, so please don't take offense at any of my feedback, it's not meant in a bad way, particularly as I openly admit I couldn't do any better!

I think with the yellow scaled back from the one I put against the blue earlier would look fantastic, and so far you're doing a great job!

Once again, I hope you have not been offended by my input.

Troy.

Like I said, I'm not opposed

Like I said, I'm not opposed to a change - we could use it - it just has to be the right change (meaning we do it now and don't have to worry about it for a long time). You also don't have to feel restricted to making it like the current logo.

I agree with Rob's points as well in regards to the current pass. Less bloom and more clarity.

I like the "Blocky" one.

Little to blocky for my taste.

I like them both, but I prefer the second "blocky" one. It makes the logo seem "videogamey." Both are more legible than your original.

Perhaps you could stretch out the "videogames and computers" sub-heading. It looks a bit cramped to me. That's just my opinion, though.

If we do change logos it will need to be universal for use everywhere, including professional printing. Just a word of warning, we've tried to change logos in the past and it's never gone anywhere because it's so hard to agree and find something that fits all uses. I certainly wouldn't mind a change, but it will require buy-in from everyone on the team...

Not really saying we have to change it.. The current logo looks a little out of focus. I was just thinking we could "crisp" it up a bit. As to portability of the logo: It just truetype fonts with layered effects.. I can make it small enough for a site logo or large enough to wallpaper the outside of the house.

What do you guys think?

I like it, but think the ARMCHAIR ARCADE still looks too bright, and now that I think about it a bi more, it looks "washed out" due to being too bright, if that makes sense?

I quickly put it up next to the current logo to check how it would appear against the blue.

Photobucket

Only a little more tweaking and I'd give it three thumbs up!
