I enjoyed Crysis and Far Cry.

I enjoyed Crysis and Far Cry. I just didn't get into Far Cry 2. It just seemed rather pointless--here's a gun, go shoot stuff. I guess I need some kind of coherent storyline and mission to get into it. Otherwise, it just starts to feel like a waste of time.

Ah yes I should clarify that,

Ah yes I should clarify that, Singel player was fine If a bit short. I'm not saying the rails thing is bad, its just funny, in the past people hated it, now a couple of the Biggest record selling games are "sorta" it, but just hidden better. Multiplayer is where I'm not happy, but i guess success breeds a whole new set of problems. may be servers trying to run one to many players, or games, may just be my bad luck on picking servers so far.

Heh, Farcry, Farcry2 and Crysis are a few of my favorite FPS becuase of so much freedom. I love to explore, even if its just fake worlds. I do agree some of the freedom does compromise gameplay. Computer AI works best if the player is limited in his aproach and designeres can get teh most out of it. Almost free form gameing can really show the AI's weak points. And those games are some of the best at pointing that out.... And I will admit largely unfair HP's to make up for it in those games is somewhat annoying (crysis alines are a big "screw you" many rockets, all your ammo and they still dont drop). I will admit Farcry2 was my least favorite of the batch.

I played Black Ops on my PC.

I played Black Ops on my PC. It ran fine, but I just went with the default settings (except for changing the resolution to 1900 x 1200). It was quite smooth.

I don't mind the fact that it's "on rails." In fact, I like that a lot better than the wide open nature of Far Cry 2. That game just bored me silly.

BOps

I suspect you are console playing BO? I'm a FPS fan and this is the first in the bucnh that I'm not happy with. Um, err, thats not correct. I'm disapointed, not in gameplay, but how it plays. My machine easily plays most any game (crysis even) but this game is UGLY in multiplayer online with the hitch, stutters, etc... None of the other COD had any of these problems. I even lowered the res a bunch, no help at all.

I was just commenting to a few guys at work (we all chipped in and got a Dedicated server for a year) that the COD games (the modern ones) are the closest things to ON RAILS shooters left. Sure you can "sorta" take different paths, but not really. Rails Shooters forced your movement as you had not control, this game does the same (somewhat), if you sit, the game just sends never ending enemies, thus forcing you to keep moving and pressing ahead.

Something funny, there is a video (you tube ) of a guy playing it on hard completing missions without shooting a shot (he just lets the teamate AI kill everything).

I do like the game, just disapointed on how it plays on the PC... so far the console-fied menus on PC's hasnt bothered me to much..

On a Fallout:vegas note the first DLC is 360 only (for a time I would guess).. Fallout should never be bought on a console.. NO MODS.. as some of the mods for Fallout3, Oblivion made the game 100% better. In fact many of the mods changed the game so much it was almsot a new game. That is one spot console makers need to catch up.. mod's... they have HD space now... (and a total new can of worms besides space, I know).

Vegas- I'm almost done ( I think) only 30 levels in game and I'm 27.. strangely I havent touched on any the quests in Vegas(the strip). Been ages since I was so hardcore into a game.

I'll probably try Fallout New

I'll probably try Fallout New Vegas very soon. I enjoyed the previous games, but I'm also eager to try SC II and Civ V.

Black Ops was a blast! Highly recommended.

I'm interested

I plan on buying this game soon....either directly from steam or go to the store and pick up a disc for the PC.

I bought and played Fallout 3 on the PC so, for this game, I'm gonna stick to this platform.
