Do you not have any Amiga

Do you not have any Amiga Equipment? If you were in the US, I would gladly see what I could scrounge up for you, but man is it expensive to ship across the border. If you are looking for Hardware Amiga, I know a gentleman in Canada who does indeed sell Amiga items. I could direct you his way.

I think Amibay is where I was directed to your Youtube videos. From there I think I joined an invitation to Maximum RD on Facebook, and I think either a google group or yahoo group as I occasionally get e-mail updates that I read. Strange. For a second there, I thought you might be the gentleman I bought my A3000D from on Amibay. I'm glad I didn't make a fool of myself and start asking you about your Amiga business.

No problem! nice to know some of my networking attempts actually work! Man I WISH I had Amiga equipment to sell or trade, maybe someday, in the meantime I will have to settle for just talking about all things Amiga.

Whatever you've heard it wasn't me!
I am gaming and computer pirate extraordinaire! Perhaps we've had "dealings" HA HAHAH! OK, bad joke carried over from Matt's "How often do you pirate?" thread, I've been in a silly mood all day. Anywho I have a fairly well known? Youtube channel and a related Facebook group and have accepted many members to my personal Facebook page but to further answer your question YES I am on AmiBay as well as several other Amiga related sites and forums because Amiga is by far my personal favorite classic computer bar none!
Though on AmiBay I am known as Chewieshmoo (don't ask) so I am all over............

I thought that sounded familiar, a famous quote from Mark Twain. To be clear I didn't happened to know this I googled for the answer. So have no fear your not dealing with an intellectual here! Of course my fellow AA team members already know that.

Anyway let me just say that I personally welcome any and all people to participate and comment, much more interesting getting comments and views from many different members.

I understand that. I have

I understand that. I have talked with at least two people on this forum either online or over the phone at some point and everyone is very nice and polite on the forums. But I think the problem stems from a comment that was drilled on me by an abusive step parent while I was growing up. 'It's better to keep one's mouth shut, and be thought a fool. Then to open it and remove all doubt.' I couldn't even tell you where it's from but I probably heard it every day for about 3 years, until that relationship ended. It's a very difficult comment to overcome and I catch myself saying it to myself mentally when I think about commenting on a subject. So I know everyone here doesn't bite but I have my own mental barriers to overcome.

-Edit- By the way, no one has come off as snobby on here. Intellectual, yes but when you are as smart as the majority of people are here, that's just what is going to happen, and there is nothing wrong with being intelligent. Now if only there were more intelligent people on the highway when I'm driving ...... :)

I can see how we might come

I can see how we might come across as snobby or too intellectual. It seems like most of us here are fairly well educated (at least it seems like most of us have at least some college, if not multiple degrees). We also tend to be pretty liberal around here, whereas most gamers and even most designers I've talked to have been staunchly conservative (including one who was so offended about my gay characters article that he refused to be interviewed).

I think we should probably "let our hair down" a bit more, especially in the forums. Let people know we're just regular folks who like joking around as much as the next guy. We're not uptight or hostile towards anyone.

Personally, I love getting everyones take on things. I'll be the first to admit that just about everyone I meet has a 180 degree opinion shift from me.. doesn't matter, that's what makes the world go round. Every opinion is valid and welcome.

Do we really come across as a bunch of art snobs? :) It's not intended.

See, Nathaniel, that's just

See, Nathaniel, that's just the kind of impression we want to overcome. We don't want to come across as too cerebral or too argumentative or too anything, though all of that stuff is fun to play up or engage in. We're all actually really nice, welcoming people who don't judge, bash or criticize. I have a feeling many people feel like you do, but we'd really like that to not be the case. We don't want to change who we are or what Armchair Arcade is because that would be phony, but we do want to hear from everyone! The last thing you should think is your opinion or thoughts don't count or aren't valid, because they do and are. So, yes, definitely participate when you're so moved to. The same goes for everyone else. There's so much to talk about!
