I remember channel 11 (WPIX) in New York having a game contest where a viewer would call in and play a video game that would appear on the TV. I remember seeing this video game on TV and the MC talking to the kid on the phone as the kid was playing for what I believe to be a high scrore to get prizes. Does anyone remember anything like this? This was arounf the aerly to mid 80's I believe.

Good question! I remember vaguely it being something you mailed in, like a post card with your name , phone number and address, but I don't remember specifically.

Yep....I remember it.

The caller would say "Pixx" to fire. They had space games and a basketball game as well. I wish they had this on YouTube. It was fun to watch.

PIX Channel 11 game

Does anyone have a visual reference to this? Like a clip on Youtube, a picture or something? This brings me back. I recall that game & the disappointment when I LOST.

PIX PIX PIX!

My next door neighbor got thru to play PIX. I believe the game was only played on weekdays after school. From what I remember it was almost like Asteroids (there might've been different versions). Whenever the kid said "PIX" it would shoot a bullet at a round circle that a spaceship was passing thru. So every kid would say "PIX" 50 million times to try to win. My friend did not

Pix Game

"PIX PIX PIX PIX PIX PIX PIX!" A friend of mine and I were talking about tv shows we watched when we were kids. Then she asked me if I remembered a phone-based video game contest that came on between Saturday AM cartoons during commerical time. Turns out I did remember it, and so we were searching for more info on it over the net and found your question! It was a simple video game and when the kid on the phone would say "Pix" it would shoot a "bullet" from the bottom of the screen up toward the top of the screen where there were some kind of targets. The kids who scored enough points would win a tee-shirt. The way to win was to say "Pix Pix Pix Pix..." as fast as you could. Hope this helps!
