Anyone use DotBASIC Plus for the C-64? It seems like an ideal way to do richer BASIC programming on the C-64 that will actually run on any C-64 (i.e., it doesn't need a special cartridge or anything).

New keys for save functionality:

Please press F12 for the Disk OSD display the "DISK #x" string in the OSD is in reverse video when the disk image was modified and needs to be written back to the SD-Card. Please press TAB or use the disk swap key : the menu key next to "Alt Gr"

I think version 2.0 has save states... still, not really a save per se.

EDIT:

Maybe saves work in memory and F12 just copies the buffered disk back to flash in it's entirety? You may be able to confirm this for us after you do the update.

I'm going to give it more of a detailed look once my MCC216 arrives.

I figured I'd post a follow

I figured I'd post a follow up to this. I did finally get my copy of dot BASIC Plus... it seems Dave is finally checking his email again. ;-)

If you decide to order a copy, be sure to make a forum account first. When you Paypal the funds specify your Dot BASIC forum account in the payment notes. It turns out that the distribution is done via file attachments on a hidden forum... So if you don't have an account then you're kind of S.O.L.

All that aside, I will say that it's a very nice collection of files that you get (utilities, fonts, manuals, etc) and the manual, in particular, is very comprehensive. I'll post more on my experience with dot BASIC Plus after I get some time to invest in it.

Mark.. I share your enthusiasm for getting back into coding, but hold off on sending your order until I get confirmation he's still active. I paypaled the money to him (Dave Moorman) on Friday and he hasn't checked his email or facebook yet.

I'll post here when I get some sign of life, until then I'd hold onto your cash. ;)

Now this is something I could get into....

Hmmm this seems like a sweet programming language/devkit. I may actually end up getting this as I am looking forward into getting back into programming things again. :)

Ok.. I paypal'd the money to him a few days ago. Still haven't heard back from him yet. I've heard that's fairly common for him as he's also the minister of a church which apparently consumes most of his free time these days.

Anyway, I guess I will get download access on the site once he checks his email. I'm looking to do a bit of coding with it.. maybe write up a mini-review.. free time willing.

I'll keep you posted.

Sounds good. I had a small bit of confusion with Minecraft myself, but it worked itself out. Definitely keep us informed of what happens.
