QUOD INIT EXITIt's nice to see new software being written for classic machines. Today we will be taking a look at a new platform game which was released on October 29th, 2010 called "Quod Init Exit".

Quod Init Exit is a new platform game released for the Commodore 64 by Simone Bevilacqua. The game concept originated as a bit of an inside joke that the author would not expound upon. Perhaps that's for the best as this is an odd game.

Quod Init Exit is a game where you take on the role of a greedy pig who hops from level to level trying to eat as much food as possible. Eating food will increase your pigs stamina. You must also lookout to avoid the poison, as eating that will lead your pig to an early demise. Once you have eaten enough food, a toilet will appear. You must get your pig to the toilet as soon as possible to be able to advance to the next level.. otherwise the pig will drop a deuce right on the side of the platform and walk off. The game will end if the pig dies or he missed getting to the toilet on time.

Like I said, the game is a bit strange. :-)

I haven't transferred the game over to real hardware yet but it plays fine under VICE and the C64 Forever modified VICE emulator.

Download the game as a D64 image here. You can also download an archive containing the D64 and Tape images (with fastloader) from this website.

Enjoy,
