Nice one Matt

Die Siedler! A German classic indeed.

As always an excellent Matt-chat. This game always reminds me of Dune2/Red Alert combined with Civ - the famous game by Sid Meier.

Matt -

I am always glad to see these videos. I can't you that enough. Whenever I watch Matt Chat, and I think to myself, "THIS is what we are about. Spreading the word, preserving game, making sure the history of gaming doesn't get lost!"

Thanks again, Matt!

Sorry cant watch video at

Sorry cant watch video at work :( but have to comment. Settlers II may just be the one PC game i have that age doesnt effect. I used to play DUNE II all the way through on each side at least once a year as it was the "game" to me for a long time. But I havent fired it up in several years now as the last time the dated feel was strong. yet Settlers II, i have a copy on my "carry it everywhere" thumbdrive with all my tools as I can play it on any machine. I still fire it up about every 6 months and spend 3-5 nights on it, or longer. I have bouhgt every Settlers game and liked them all (even the one before the latest which was very different). I was excited to play the latest one as from my reading it was return to the "old" settlers style and gameplay. But the DRM and everything i have read has made me vote with my pocketbook... I long to play it, but i wont support DRM that hurts the legit person. DRM is here and not going away soon enough (if ever), but i just cant support the "brute" force DRM out there (one big reason I wont own apple products either) nothing wrong with protecting your assets. Most Iphones are jailbroke, most harsh DRM's are cracked and us legit people resort ot the cracks.

has anybody played the lastest one? (err maybe you have something in video, dang work!) tell me its no good so I dont feel so bad about not buying it.

Many people feel like you,

Many people feel like you, clok1966. From what I hear, the game is fine, though not worth putting up with that DRM. I hope that eventually it will be re-released without it, perhaps in budget form.

It is very important to vote with your dollars on this stuff. If you buy it anyway, you're sending a message to the publisher that it's all right. Of course, they'll blame "piracy" for poor sales regardless, but a few of them will know the truth.
