This looks interesting AND it has a proper looking d-pad: http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/bd6f/

Anyone have it or have tried/seen one?

To hack or not to hack

You don't have to. You can use the emulators that are built in, of which there are a good selection. If you want to do more with it, a la something like a GP-x system, you do the software hack. It's one of those things where you almost would want to leave it as a factory install if you have other systems that you have simply for the convenience of a turn-key emulation portable, which is exceedingly rare.

It looks cool, but...

It looks cool, but the small screen would make it rather difficult for me to enjoy the games. I can't imagine playing with a 2-millimeter-high Mario jumping around. At least you can (apparently) hook it up to a TV to play it.

I've bought from

I've bought from DealExtreme, but only cheap stuff like cables & adapters. (It's great to buy things for $3 or $4 that would probably be $15 or $20 at retail) They came in a bubble envelope direct from Hong Kong and it took 3 or 4 weeks.

Yes it is the exact same product. Wishing I ordered from there as I ordered form DealExtreme which I believe is Hong Kong based and it's taking forever...........................Basical ThinkGeek takes products like these, sometimes re-names them, usually pre-set them for english etc. You pay a bit more but usually get it faster.............
I bit as I did on the GP2xWiz which I don't regret. I had noticed that this Dingoo a320 has been getting great support, perhaps better than the WIZ so I could not resist temptation. Yes it has decent buid in emulation but it's my understanding for even better emulators and apps you need to install DINGUX (I think that is what it's called) then you can dual boot with original firmware or something like that. I am still researching in anticipation.

eBay has them cheaper:

I'm going to hold off since some day in this lifetime I'm going to be getting my Pandora (and I already have a little used GP2X F200), but this looks like a great deal in comparison to similar systems like the Wiz.
