An encyclopedia in your pocket (a la The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Kind of cool, though I really wouldn't want to carry another device: http://bit.ly/7OAAi (but of course this is not targeted to people like us)

Very cool. I actually use the regular version in Safari on my iPhone quite a bit (I was just reading up on the Honeymooners, Jackie Gleason, Cannonball Run, etc., yesterday). Since I always have some type of connection with that, I don't need an offline version, but it's so nice to see this kind of stuff related to Wikipedia. I realize it has its flaws, but if this isn't the embodiment in every practical way of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - right down to making the "Encyclopedia Galactica" (or whatever it was called) "obsolete" - I don't know what is. You would have never seen this type of innovation or coverage from the traditional encyclopedias, who in my opinion peaked at the height of reference materials on CD-ROM and just before the Internet became truly pervasive. Of course they still have their place, but for every day usage, Wikipedia is hard to beat.

Yeah and really any device

Yeah and really any device with an active Internet connection has it, but this is specialized around JUST offline Wikipedia and offline updates. Another device in search of a market, though I can perhaps see more justification for this one.
