This time no game character but a game that has been ported many times. It is amazing to see that some ports even copy the handwritten Williams by 'handwriting' their own or the company name. Then there's the explosions that are all very similar. The game screen layout including the radar - which does not really seem to work properly in the c64 version I got - is very very similar for quite a number of the ports.
The two Odyssey2 games that flash in between somewhere don't really belong but do resemble the gameplay just a tad. But I had it connected so I thought ...'what the hell'...

These are really cool, Mark! I thought that you were just linking these videos created by someone else, since you didn't identify yourself in the first videos. But the new videos clearly show that you are involved. I am enjoying these videos very much.
As for Defender, I KNEW you were going to forget about "Repton." I saw "Dropzone," which was really cool, but I was waiting for "Repton."
"He's not going to show Repton," I thought to myself. And I waited, and waited.
"I knew it. Mark's a moron," I smugly realized. "He doesn't know jack about Defender-alikes."
But then.... REPTON!!!! There it was, fully realized in the video. You DID show Repton! Egg on my face....
You didn't show "Super-Intergalactic Cosmos Blasters," though. You moron!
Okay, that one really doesn't exist. I made that one up... :-)
By the way, I have (had?? I can't find it now) an Amiga Defender clone called, I believe, "Space Rangers." It's very obscure, though. It was released here in the US under the "Mastertronic" label. Unlike Defender, as you progress in the game, the setting changes. In one level, you had aliens on the ground throwing snowballs at you! I don't recall much else about the game, but it was a pretty competent game, as I recall.
Another one that I (and my friends) played a lot was the TRS-80 model 1 knock-off of Defender called "Eliminator," by Adventure International (I think). It was VERY different than the Atari/C64 versions that you showed in that it was a straight Defender clone, and was one of the best games ever for the TRS-80 platform. I don't expect you to show TRS-80 games, though, since a) they are too primitive, and b) the TRS-80 platform is fairly difficult to emulate.
Anyhow, these videos are great! Thanks for putting the effort into this! I'm sure many, MANY classic gamers will enjoy these videos as I have!

Great idea for a montage video series! Resembles *Insert Game*! Thanks for putting the playlist of the others up I look forward to checking them out. Nice work with the music, too.
Love the idea, but would've been nice if you could have commented on what exactly the platform was for each game. Some of those Atari ones were what...?
Excellent suggestion by the way. I could put in all sorts of information on which platforms are shown. But that'll take me a lot more work as I tend to mix the clips together and whilst making the montage also change the order and it is harder to make labels that way - besides it also distracts from the screen. I'll consider putting in the info in future videos.
Most of it is c64 stuff, with Atari 5200, Atari 2600, Colecovision, Intellivision, Sega Master System, MSX, C64, arcade, nes, snes, atari 600XL.

I wonder if you could show a small picture of the box in the corner or something. I agree, it shouldn't be distracting or add significantly to your workload.
Well did it, doing the Pengo the last. It seems not to be so difficult with Youtube.
