Now this is what I'm talking about! As someone who is on a laptop full-time, I would love this, as I don't always have access to a second screen, which greatly enhances productivity. Hopefully I can afford it by the time this comes out, the company is decent, and the specs are right. Long shot I know...

It IS a long shot in some ways

Quite possible. They're actually more active on Twitter and are seeking beta invites. I applied, but there are only like 8 seats.

I really do like Lenovo's, but if gScreen can get their act together, they would have something nicer: http://www.gizmag.com/lenovo-dual-screen-thinkpad-w700ds/10607/

Frankly, in lieu of the Lenovo thing, you're probably better off with a Mimo, as it only adds $130 or so the cost of a regular laptop.

I have a dual monitor setup

I have a dual monitor setup with my laptop at work, but not at home, because the tiny table I work on can't accomodate it. With two monitors on a single laptop footprint, it would work.

Lenovo of course did this first, but their second screen was much smaller.

These Mimo monitors might be a nice consolation price and may even fit on my setup: http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/20/nanovision-mimo-um-710-hands-on-and-i...

hmmm

Don't know what to think about this. As wonderful as two screens for a laptop may be I don't particularly like the look and feel of the setup. It seems that those screens will slide out. In order for this laptop to work it must have a good build quality and not be flaky in any sense.

For graphic designers, web developers, programs and other content creators this is an excellent way to work on a portable. For writers it is wonderful to be able to read through your digital sources on one screen and have your word processor on the other without having to constantly switch windows.
