While it does require memory expansion, it's still a stunning achievement for the platform! Can't wait for this one to be released:
Very good game for a limited machine.
Since I purchased the deluxe set today, I was also sent the full version ROM via e-mail for use in an emulator as well as a PDF of the manual. Classy, classy stuff. I am thoroughly blown away by the quality of the manual and can't wait for the physical version to come!

I have never owned a Vic-20, nor am I familiar with it's game library, and therefore have no particular nostalgia for this platform. But I am actually considering ordering a copy of this just because!
It looks like a magnificent achievement. I saw the preview video here on AA before and commented, and was further educated on the complexity of the achievement, particularly from Bill Loguidice.
Let me say that the title screen and "bestiary" graphics look awesome! As a former non-pro 8-bit and 16-bit graphics artist, the graphics look great, especially considering the resolution and color limitations of the VIC-20! Excellent graphic work!
This looks like great game overall!

It was in February of 2009 (this year) that I had announced that I would be making DUNJON III. After a couple of weeks, I decided that this project would instead become REALMS OF QUEST III.
I posted on the VIC-20 Denial forum ( http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=3368 ) what was on my mind at the time as I was making this game. There were some setbacks but it was always 3 steps forward with the occasional step back.

(clockwise from upper-left: first mockup "proof of concept" for Dunjon III which would later evolve into Realms of Quest III, party menu graphic, saehn's magnificient splash screen for the intro, and the party traveling on the surface map)

(the above are saehn's enhanced graphics that are included in the commercial release)

(all of my spare time spent on this was not in vain as the above illustrates).
Again, a big kudos to saehn and darkatx (and of course, Kenz the publisher) for their magnificent art.
Would you believe that I originally conceived that it would take me 2 years to finish this project? At the time I started this project, I only had a bare minimum knowledge of 6502 assembly language.
I hope that those who order it get some entertainment out of it. If you'd like a sampler of what this game is like, you can also try the freeware version available here: http://www.psytronik.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&...
Yep, we're hoping we receive some type of notice when the commercial version will be available, so if you can, let us know when you know.

Just to let you guys know, the freeware version of "Realms of Quest III" has been released:
http://www.psytronik.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&...
... at this site, you can see how the commercial version will look like (jewel case, disk and sleeve labels plus a peek at the 36 page instruction manual).
While the freeware version of the game is considered a 'full' game, there are many additional features (and even bonus games, about 20 in all) that will be included in the commercial version. The freeware version just gives people a chance to try out the game before they buy it. I'm not sure when the commercial version will be available, but it should be soon.
PAL people have it rough! Borders around games, games that run too slow, VHS and DVD's that run too fast.
Arghh it's my pet peeve, I'll shut up :P
