The Xbox360 live service hasn’t had a significant update since release time and this made accessing the increasing content more and more troublesome. A major update is necessary, and this is just what M$ is going to do. A major xbox-360-update that will be released shortly will include 3 major changes according to Kotaku gaming.

Xbox360’s Live Marketplace content will be accessible in a more clear and synoptic manner A second change is the use of background downloading where users can have up to 6 items in a download cue. Downloading will be paused during gameplay. And finally the interface will support better controls for multimedia content, bookmarking, playlists, optional booting directly to the dashboard instead of the gamedisc and a better management system for photo’s.

The next major update is expected in the fall.
