A look at GP2X........

Rob Daviau's picture

Here we have a brief look at the GP2x handheld. I show the packaging, what is included and talk a bit about the unit. Just a little too long so a 2nd part will be added very soon. Not a comprehensive demonstration but more a quick look to bring it to the attention of people who might not be aware of this cool little handheld. These are no longer in production so find an online retailer or check Ebay if you want to add it to your own collection.

I've done some vids on the gp2x in the past

www.gp2x.de is a good place to start downloading files for the handheld
www.gp32x.com is a good place for forum activities

One of my great

One of my great disappointments is not getting more use out of my F200. I'm sure I'll still do something with it at some point, but as soon as my Pandora comes, it will become a shelved "classic".

EXCELLENT machine, I used

EXCELLENT machine, I used mine quite a bit, the homebrew stuff is amazing, and the very few pay games are not to bad either. It was unfortnate that the other handhelds (psp, DS) are both easliy hackable and stole alot of its thunder. The GP2X was open to anybody. The only reall downside i had was battery life, but a few spare rechargables in the case made it pretty easy to live with. But yest battery life was short (about 2 hours for me with GOOD batteries).

They didn't improve that by much in the F200 either. Supposedly the Pandora will be in the Nintendo DS range, meaning up to 10 hours. I'd love to believe that!

Good stuff, Oldschoolgamer!

Very interesting and well presented, with good commentary. Having never seen a GP2X, it was cool to see one in action! I'd have liked to see it play some games, though, but I found these videos to be greatly informative. Now I want a GP2X, doggone it....
