Just something to file away for potential future use and a heads-up on my current status...

My current status:
I'm still busy at my regular job. It looks like it will stay that way for a while. I'm just going to have to work around it.

I'm waiting to hear back from the publisher and/or my agent on the first advance payment for the first section of the book. I'll be continuing to plug away on that, still behind schedule for the rest of the book.

Not much progress as of yet on television and radio proposals sent out. I'll probably do some tests at home to see if I can do a semi-pro level 15-minute pilot for PBS with current equipment and help. (and thanks to Matt, I'll probably explore some of those grants in the not-too-distant future)

I'm going to try and devote some more time to Neo this weekend. I want to specifically address the outline/scheduling that didn't generate much interest after I posted it.

It's depressingly quiet at the current AA. It sure would be nice if we could think of something to get people into it for the short-term until we can launch Neo. We're still probably about 60 days away...

Otherwise, nothing else new I can think of... I'm getting a bit antsy frankly about doing some more public stuff, so hopefully I can use that energy to make some progress on as much of the above as possible...

It's a bit cheesy, but I put a teaser up on the current AA start page after the splash page: http://www.armchairarcade.com/aamain/content.php?article.89.255

Everyone is bizzy!

I'm with you, Bill. Things are really intense on this end as well. I'm going out of town this weekend to another conference, and there's all kinds of other things on my plate (i'm on a hiring committee for a new hire, designing a syllabus archive for the dept, still editing/working on the wiki edited collection, and that's just a few things right off the top of my head). TO make matters worse, I just suffered a mighty blow to my income (don't ask) which puts me squarely back into "grad student starvation mode." Everytime I think I'm finally in the clear, diaster strikes. Sigh. I just can't get ahead.

On the positive side, I keep hearing about grants and incentives here that I might be able to apply to AA somehow. I haven't thought it through, yet, but the funds are there.

I'm still planning to dedicate time this weekend to working on this site. At the very least, I hope to get a handle on how the layout works, and hopefully elizabeth will come through with the banner. I really like that site Mark pointed out, so maybe I'll try to base the design on it.

wow!

Matt, great what you've done to the site so far. This is very close to what I thought would look great. Don't know if we need to invest in creating a drop-down menu or do it more like this.

New Domain Name and Contributing to Video Game Collector

I just registered "www.videogamesandcomputers.com" for later use for some of my media stuff. For right now, it will be set to automatically mask to "www.armchairarcade.com" until such time as it's needed. Even if it doesn't get used for anything, I think it's an important domain name to have. Now we have it.

Also, I'll likely be contributing to the print magazine, "Video Game Collector". We'll see how that works out.

Speak to you guys soon...
