Theme of Ancient Egypt in Games

Egypt-themed games animationEgypt-themed games animation Having just returned from Egypt - which was amazing by the way - made me wonder about the use of ancient Egypt as a theme for videogames. I've seen FPS games, and a lot of puzzle games, Lara Croft has stumbled through some Egyptian tombs. Often I've just been irritated by its use because the theme had nothing to do with the gameplay.

So are there any good 'ancient Egypt-themed' games out there? Games that have the ancient Egypt theme integrated into the gameplay?

Egyptian Games

One of the best I've played is Riddle of the Sphinx, a GAG I picked up for $10 at Target. It was a labor of love by a husband and wife team, and well worth playing.

A real oldie that always seemed interesting to me was Total Eclipse, an early first-person game. I never managed to get very far into it.

Riddle of the Sphinx - Atari 2600 (Imagic, 1982)

Of course there's also the same name "Riddle of the Sphinx" for the Atari 2600 from Imagic (1982). Very well done and a classic: Here

Racing past an Egyptian pyramid

Thanks Matt for you comments, I am going to try to check out the games you mentioned.
I was racing past some Egyptian pyramid in Outrun 2006 a while ago. Very nice graphics. The Netherlands are in there too, easiest of the easiest tracks, it's a little too hilly but also nicely done.
Some more nice Egyptian themed games out there?
