Toucan Pirates Rock

I know it isn't precisely relevant to AA--well, maybe if you love Secret of Monkey Island. Anyway, I wanted to tell you guys about a fantastic pirate-themed band I've been listening to lately: Toucan Pirates. I downloaded their "Battle Songs" album from Amazon and have been listening to it repeatedly. Great music for relaxing and imagining yourself aboard a pirate vessel! I dig the sound effects and voice clips, too.

I like it!

I think we might have similar eclectic tastes in music, because I like the music on the link you provided! Thanks for the heads-up! And you should be banished to play "E.T." on the Atari 2600 forever for posting an off-topic link. (Just kidding!)

I'm not sure if I would classify it as "similar" music, but "Toucan Pirates" reminds me of an old "Celtic Renaissance/Classical" band named "The Brobdingnagian Bards." According to the website, these guys have long broken up, but their music is available for free on many free MP3 sites. One of my favorites is Tolkien (The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings) from their "Songs of a Muse" album. It's relaxing, renaissance/classical (a fave of mine), and actually romantic! Check them out at their website and seek out their MP3's!

Thanks for the link, Rob. I

Thanks for the link, Rob. I like that song a lot, too. I checked out their other stuff and like pretty much all of it! Damn, I can see some money leaving my bank account soon.

I listen to Pandora's celtic stuff quite a bit, though I can't stand it when they make cheesy remakes of pop tunes and call it "new age" just cuz it's got a sax instead of a singer. shudder.

I really like these guys: Baltimore Consort, too. I have their Watkins Ale and this Scottish album. Very nice background music when you need a break from heavy metal or scenemusic. :)
