Let's see, it's about 9:30 AM EST here in New Jersey, and I've already received half a dozen e-mails from typically reliable sources with weak April Fools Day spoofs. Is anyone else tired of this unfunny, trying way-too-hard, crap? Some of the lowlights include e-mails from Cafe Press about their new service that combines customized clothing and dating, from Microsoft about new Xbox 360 accessories (like an integrated headset helmet) and systems (a woodgrain model) and a press release from the Postal people about the military implementing their idea for cat silencers. I can hardly contain my laughter here at work...
Quantum Link
true, true. Or the Apple II, perhaps.
Sure. I was thinking the C-64 only because it could have talked about basing it off of the groundbreaking work in "Habitat", but perhaps I'm being too obtuse for a non-retrocomputing audience... ;-)

OK, but been there, done that...
I didn't care for it. The Duke Nukem Forever guys did it first many years ago: http://www.3drealms.com/duke4/dnf2600.html
They could have at least picked something like the C-64, which would have made a lot more sense in context...

the best april fool's gag for retrogamers
Have you seen Molten Core? It's the best I've seen in a long time. Brilliant.
Utter distaste
April fools day crap is so bad that I actually force myself not to go anywhere near the internet or the media for news or anything. Some elaborate jokes are funny but the whole idea of people that are about to go bullocks from one moment to the next is just something I'd rather avoid. Especially when I have to deal with unpredictable people at work all year round.
