A bit old and there's a foul language alert, but this is gold for writers, comic book enthusiasts, movie enthusiasts, etc.:

I watched this, and it led me to look on youtube for some clips from the other Kevin Smith movies. Kevin Smith came to SCSU a year or so ago; I didn't go to hear him, but heard lots of people complaining about how crude he was. Then again, what can you expect after watching his films.

I thought Clerks was worth viewing; it did a good job of capturing that whole lifestyle very well. From what I've seen of Mallrats, it also hits close to the mark. I was thoroughly disappointed with Dogma, though--that movie just made me groan. I think he just bit off more than he could chew. I saw Chasing Amy as well, but it's been a long time. Don't remember it too well, though I remember thinking that the characters were similar to people I knew in real life.

I sort of have a love/hate relationship with these movies. On the one hand, I like them because they capture that mood/spirit very well. On the other hand, it can be painful for the same reason. I know plenty of annoying people, and they are annoying for a reason--don't watch to watch them.
