YouTubed - Prehistoric Safari (Odyssey, 1972)

Well, sorry it's been so long since my last entry but I've been trying to come up with a way to convey the look and feel of Odyssey games without getting even more verbose than I already am. Solution!--YouTube and a new camera that actually records sound! This should help everyone understand the mechanics of Odyssey's lightgun game, Prehistoric Safari.

There should be an embedded YouTube player showing up below, if there isn't, go here, but be sure to come back!

So, if there's something about the Odyssey you don't quite "get" then ask me! I'll be happy to provide a little video demonstration. I think my next video will just go over the basic Odyssey controllers and the way one controls the spots on the screen.

Some of the most common misperceptions I've encountered in doing Chronogamer have been about the basic controls, the overlays and the light gun, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to show some of the off-screen items such as the football board or the answer decoder for Interplanetary Voyage. That's for the future though. Anyway, please feel free to post questions. Thanks!

Enjoyed!

I really enjoyed that, too. Though one suggestion--put yourself in the introduction! We didn't get to see who was telling us all about Prehistoric Safari! :-)

Keep 'em coming. I can't get enough details about stuff like this.

Good work.
