100 Amiga Games Video

Today I have a little treat for Amiga fans--100 Amiga Games in 10 Minutes by Laffer 35. Laffer has put together clips of 100 different Amiga games based on the top 100 list at Lemon Amiga. As Laffer suggests, if you don't like the techno soundtrack, feel free to play whatever you want in the background (preferably some classic Amiga mods or chiptunes!!) BTW, see the link above for the list of games used in the clip below. How many of these games do you remember?

NOTE: Link has been fixed. Now the music is 100% better! Don't you dare not listen to it. ;-P

Anyway, I made a 100 Commodore 64 games in 10 minutes one too now.. not 100% happy with this one as I left out some huge classics.. I might do a "revised" version or something, I still have all the clips on my harddrive so it would be easy to remake it and just replace a few games.

Even as-is it's a great job. Thanks for that!

Yeah, the reason why it was

Yeah, the reason why it was down for a little while is that I replaced the music with something more fitting :)

Amiga Graphics - The Minimum Sweet Spot?

It certainly looks better in a reduced window rather than its full size (as most images with "flaws" tend to) on a real Amiga monitor, but I absolutely agree with your comments. I think the Amiga pretty much met the minimum requirements needed to have its 2D games look good indefinitely. It seems like 32 on-screen colors (what most Amiga games featured) and a huge pallet to choose from really hit a sweet spot when combined with the system's resolution. The 16 on-screen colors of many other systems of the time is not bad, but there's definitely more dithering involved, even with a good pallet to choose from, making many of the competing games not nearly as attractive.

Hm

Not sure. Perhaps the guy who did the song was angry about it? There's a new song now that goes with it. I'll update the link above. It definitely still works.

It's funny, I watched it yesterday afternoon, then after going back to it shortly thereafter I got the "no longer available" message. I can't imagine there being copyright issues. Who knows, though these days? It was really neat, if only to show some of the capabilities of the Amiga in motion, but nothing that was absolutely essential to watch.
