These are always fun and this is a new one: http://pc.ign.com/articles/776/776398p1.html

I do actually disagree with a few of the choices and in fact will say that some on the list are actually quite good, even if only in comparison to the competition at the time...

I agree about Valis III.

I agree about Valis III. What ruins it is how ugly the woman is. I have Karnaaj Rally for the GBA and it's actually only a few (maybe four) years old!

I actually like the art for the Sega Master System they have listed on one level. Sadly, in comparison to the dreadful cover art that that system sported on its game boxes, it's actually pretty good.

I'd love to do a follow-up "fluff" piece to my game packaging article and focus on some of the best cover art of all time. Even disregarding the contents or some of the actual games, some of the cover art for classic computer games is absolutely stunning, particularly the fantasy ones (and only a few used Vallejo art).

I like the cover to Valis

I like the cover to Valis III-- a lot of fantasy action/RPG games of the time had that art style which is pleasing to me... I guess it appeals to me because it reminds me of pulpy covers to fantasy novels. The woman on the cover of Valis III looks waaay too manly for me though-- it's supposed to be a woman, isn't it? ;)

Karnaaj Rally is pretty early 90's hideous looking, I must admit.

Clash at Demonhead had nice artwork. The game is ahead of its time, too.

Phalanx is certainly the strangest as far as space SHMUPS go for cover art-- a hillbilly with a guitar? What were they thinking.

Gotta love the Ninja Golf.

I wish the article would have had commentary as to why these covers were so awesomely bad. It almost seems as if IGN wrote the article from a few random Google Image searches-- there's no real depth to it. I mean, you couldn't have that much depth in this kind of article, but still soeme humorous flavor text would have been nice...
