Zottd, a great developer for the gamepark gp2x system has released his Gameboy Advance emulator for the handheld. It is titled Gpsp2x! and features a Dynarec'd CPU core.
GpSP2X is an official GP2X port of gpSP, a GBA emulator written from scratch by Exophase.
But it's more than just a port, as the author has extensively tweaked it specifically for the GP2X with features such as overclocking the CPU, RAM, and LCD tweaks. Many games can be run at fullspeed, altough some games are refusing to operate correctly. After much private beta testing, sound quality and syncing has improved drastically, as well as compatibility.
A new version gpSP2X v9007 has been released at:

Be sure to read the enclosed readme.txt. For more help and discussion, there is a General Discussion thread on the gp32x.com forums
The author is planning virtualisation next.
I´ve tried out the emulator and I am amazed by the level of compatibility. It is simply amazing to experience the GBA games on a bigger and brighter screen. It does make me wish that the gp2x came out with a thumbpad instead of a ´joystick´ even more. The little cousin of the gp2x, the gp32 has a far better joystick but probably won´t have the horsepower to run a version of the emulator. Perhaps when optimizations are performed on the gp2x a gp32 might be possible but because that system has no dedicated sound or graphicschips I doubt it. Besides the author hasn´t hinted on a gp32 version.
