Wow. I didn't realize that Bard's Tale allowed you to import characters from Wizardry and Ultima. How strange! I don't think I've ever seen that kind of cross-game character sharing before. These magazines undoubtedly contain many treasures! Just wish there was a more convenient way to view them.
You know, there is something I've been using to read comics online. The files go with a program caleld CDisplay, and it's VERY nice (hard to believe it's actually free). It's so much better than PDF for viewing scanned in comics! It's really hard to fathom why more people don't use it. It seems to work by allowing you to put all the scans into a .zip archive and renaming it to .cbr. Then the program puts them all together in a sort of vertical reel (you can also scan horizontally when the need arises). It's super fast.
I intend to post a blog soon detailing my experiences with reading comics online, but it's something you might want to check out now if you intend to do more of these scans.
