You know, one thing I forgot to mention earlier about Civ IV that bugged me was how each leader only got one special unit. Once the era was up for that unit, everything else was the same for all the cultures. Seemed like the Indian civs got a big advantage because their special unit (a fast worker) was useful throughout the game, whereas others (say, a redcoat) was only good for one era.
I think it's kinda dumb that all the civilizations start to look the same the closer you get to modern times. Granted, there is a lot of technology crossover in real life, but I daresay Bangalore looks a lot different than New York City. I haven't played the earlier Civ games yet, but I'm wondering if there problem is there, too.
I mean, when I think about what the Aztec civilization would've looked like if it had conquered the Europeans and made it into modern times--well, somehow I don't think it'd be the spitting image of the US.
