It's in the same class as the CIV series, but plays heavy on the strategy side with command of tons of different human and mechanical units. It slants a bit more toward the conquering of nearby neighbors versus being ruler of the world. If you sit back and just try and build up your areas, the neighbors will do you in. In the Civ series you could sit back and build to your hearts content and not have to worry "to much" whether your neighbors would attack you. Empire Earth is alot like the Command and Conquer series. To me it's more intense than Civ, but in a different way.
