First, in regards to layout software, don't worry about it. It will be done in Word, which is fully compatible and will work fine for the purpose.
Second, no problem with the value-adds. I agree. I want a good edit and we can certainly write introductions to each (maybe a paragraph each) giving a fresh perspective on some of the stuff. In any case, if you're all fine with the outline, I can get cracking on the document and then we can work on it from there. And yes, we want to avoid time sinks that detract from new content, which is what we need to be focused primarily on, new written content.
As for people buying them, I thinking this year, maybe 100 or so (so about $100 "profit"). I think it's important for us to have it though for other endeavors. Sometimes just having something gives you great legitimacy.
