So bottom line: good game, maybe even (for me) great. I really like it. i was hoping for something a littel closer to MoM.. but this is pretty good as is. Ihavent run into anything I hate, the AI seems more then good enough. My guess is the hardcore may not think so.. I was playing on NORMAL it has 5 settings, easy, casule, normal, hard and brutal (not those names). I may popit down one more just for the first few games.. better to win on easy then get frustrated and quit.
Heck, Clok, I'm tempted to buy this game after reading your review, so the subject of this thread is appropriate! Civ with a fantasy setting sounds like a winner to me; I know full well how addictive Civ is. Civ is so addictive that I'm afraid to play it anymore! "Just one more turn..." and then suddenly, you notice you've grown a full beard since you started playing.
I've purchased a few games based on Matt's reviews, and purchased "Archon Classic" based on Bill's review. I even downloaded "World of Tanks" based on your ravings, although I never got around to playing it beyond the opening screens due to other distractions.
