I don't see a "need" for a watch either, but I do get a lot of use out of mine when I have it on. I'm surprised how often I look at it to tell the time--a lot easier than pulling that brick out of my pocket. If you're not into wearing a holster or have baggy jeans or a jacket on--that thing is uncomfortable to pull in and out. It's not a huge deal, but if I could check a message just by looking at my watch, that'd be a nice convenience.
