What I find most interesting at the moment, Clok, is whether or not Internet Explorer comes out for the Xbox 360 any time soon, as Microsoft has been pretty blunt about the value of Web browsers on consoles (and I tend to agree). If indeed it does come out before this generation is over, I can then believe that the next Xbox will indeed be built on the core of Windows 8, like the next version of Windows Phone, and yes, Windows 8, including both ARM and Intel versions. At that point it would seem to put multi-platform development again firmly in the favor of Microsoft, and I don't know how much Sony could do. With that said, with sufficient middleware and similar hardware specs, it may not be much more effort than it is now to create Windows and Mac versions, or even Windows, Mac, and Linux versions. Imagine a PS4 powered by Linux - or even a subset of Android? Interesting possibilities there and plenty of time for this to gel into something we're not expecting. I have a feeling reaction to the Wii U will guide the final designs for the next Xbox and the PS4 as well...
